Through a vivid array of violin repertoire, students are invited to investigate, participate, and brainstorm. Featured composers range from well-known masters – Telemann, Prokofiev, Bach – to exciting newer voices from many corners of the globe. Students will help create a number of Latin dance rhythms before witnessing Vanacek’s percussive Spanish Rhapsody, and explore Bill Traylor’s folkart, which inspired a piece by Carlos Simon.
