The San Francisco Symphony writes:
Mezzo-soprano Melody Wilson, and the SF Symphony Chorus join the Orchestra for a program full of hope, faith, and redemption. The concert is anchored by Florence Price’s magnum opus and an SF Symphony premiere, the monumental Third Symphony. The program also features traditional American hymns, music by Johannes Brahms and César Franck full of Romantic beauty and anguish, and Carlos Simon’s jubilant AMEN!, which recreates the musical experience of Black Pentecostal church services.
