**Event Description:**  
Join us for an evening of majestic music conducted by guest conductor David Hayes. The concert will feature Johannes Brahms' Symphony No. 1, a masterpiece that took nearly fifteen years to compose and has not been performed at Umstattd Hall for almost as long. The program opens with Antonín Dvořák’s exhilarating Carnival Overture, a piece that captures the essence of human joy. The evening will also include Jennifer Higdon’s All Things Majestic, a contemporary tribute to the grandeur of America’s National Parks.

**Artist Spotlight: David Hayes**  
David Hayes is a conductor with a broad range of repertory, spanning symphonic, oratorio/choral, and operatic genres. He is the Music Director of NYCHORAL (New York Choral Society) and holds several prestigious positions, including Director of Orchestral and Conducting Studies at the Mannes School of Music, Music Director of the Mannes Orchestra, and Staff Conductor of the Curtis Symphony Orchestra. Hayes is a frequent guest conductor and has recently conducted masterclasses at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and guest conducted in Italy and Spain.
