### ESO Youth - Spring Half Term 2024 Beginners Orchestra

Saturday, 24th February 2024 - Sunday, 25th February 2024

**Event Times:**  
9:30 AM - 5:00 PM each day (Drop-offs available from 8:30 AM)

**Location:**  
Routh Hall, Bromsgrove School, Worcester Road, Bromsgrove B61 7DU

**Age Group:**  
6-14 years

**Skill Level:**  
Grade 0-3 (No previous orchestra experience necessary)

**Instruments:**  
All orchestral instruments welcome, including recorder and saxophones. (No piano/guitar)

**Cost:**  
£90 per student (includes hot lunch on both days)

**Event Description:**
Join the English Symphony Orchestra (ESO) Youth for an exciting Spring Half Term Beginners Orchestra course. This non-residential program is designed for young musicians aged 6-14 with skill levels ranging from Grade 0-3. No previous orchestra experience is required, making it an ideal opportunity for beginners to explore the world of orchestral music.

The course kicks off with a warm-up session to break the ice and promote good posture, breathing, listening, and communication skills. Participants will engage in full and sectional orchestral rehearsals, as well as a variety of complementary activities including singing and group improvisation/composition. The event culminates in a short informal concert showcasing the pieces worked on during the course.

**Tutors and Staff:**
The course will be supported by 8-12 tutors and pastoral staff, all of whom are core members of the ESO and Enhanced DBS checked. These experienced professionals bring their own unique ideas to inspire and motivate the young musicians.

**Health and Safety:**
COVID protocols will be in place, including regular hand washing and the use of hand sanitiser.
