### ESO Youth - August 2023 Beginners Orchestra

**Event Description:**  
The English Symphony Orchestra (ESO) is excited to present the ESO Youth - August 2023 Beginners Orchestra, a two-day non-residential course designed for young musicians aged 6-14 with a playing level of Grade 0-3. This event welcomes all orchestral instruments, including recorders and saxophones, but excludes piano and guitar. No previous orchestra experience is necessary.

**Course Highlights:**
- **Warm-Up Sessions:** Start each day with activities focused on posture, breathing, listening, and communication.
- **Orchestral Rehearsals:** Participate in both full and sectional rehearsals.
- **Complementary Activities:** Engage in singing, group improvisation, and composition.
- **Informal Concert:** Conclude the course with a short concert showcasing the skills and pieces worked on during the event.

**Tutors and Staff:**  
The course will be supported by 8-12 tutors and pastoral staff, all of whom are core members of the ESO and Enhanced DBS checked. They bring their unique ideas and enthusiasm to inspire the young musicians.

**Cost:**  
£90 per student, which includes a hot lunch on both days. Bursaries are available; please email esoyouth@eso.co.uk for more information.

**COVID-19 Protocols:**  
Regular hand washing and the use of hand sanitiser will be encouraged throughout the course.
