### Celebrating Neville Marriner Homecoming Concert - Academy of St Martin in the Fields

Join the Academy of St Martin in the Fields (ASMF) as they celebrate the centenary of their founder, the renowned Lincoln-born violinist and conductor Sir Neville Marriner, with a special homecoming concert. This event will take place in the stunning surroundings of Lincoln Cathedral, a fitting venue for a tribute to one of the world’s greatest conductors.

Sir Neville Marriner, who was born in Lincoln and attended Lincoln School, founded the ASMF in 1958. Under his leadership, the ensemble revolutionized the classical music scene with their exceptional performances and extensive discography. This concert will honor Marriner’s legacy with a program that reflects his early championing of Baroque music and his significant contributions to the classical genre.

- **Handel:** Concerto Grosso in B flat, Op.3, No.2
- **Vaughan Williams:** Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis
- **Mozart:** Symphony No. 25 in G minor, K.183
- **Errollyn Wallen:** PARADE (New commission)
- **Haydn:** Symphony No. 104 in D major, "London"

The evening will open with Handel’s elegant Concerto Grosso Op.3, No.2, a piece that was also featured in the ASMF’s first BBC Prom in 1965. The program will continue with Mozart’s Symphony No. 25, a piece Marriner conducted for the soundtrack of the acclaimed film "Amadeus." Vaughan Williams’ evocative Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis will showcase the orchestra’s unrivaled string sound, and the concert will also feature a new commission by Errollyn Wallen titled "PARADE." The evening will conclude with Haydn’s Symphony No. 104, "London."

Under the direction of ASMF leader Tomo Keller, this exceptional concert will pay tribute to Sir Neville Marriner in his hometown, celebrating the music he loved and admired.
