More details
Stravinsky’s Violin Concerto comes to life in the hands of Patricia Kopatchinskaja — whom The New York Times calls “a player of rare expressive energy.” Brahms spent over 20 years writing his First Symphony; by turns somber, stormy, hushed, and heroic, the work established the Romantic’s unequivocal command of the genre. Jakub Hrůša opens the program by conducting Jessie Montgomery’s anticipated Project 19 premiere.
