Alexander Borodin worked as a scientist but he dreamed in music and his wonderful Second Symphony is exactly as stirring, as tuneful and as lush as you’d expect from the composer of the Polovtsian Dances – and it’s a real favourite of our Principal Guest Conductor Andrew Manze.
