Manfred Honeck brings out the emotional riches in Mendelssohn’s beloved Violin Concerto, with Ray Chen, winner of the Yehudi Menuhin and Queen Elisabeth Competitions, as soloist. Also on the program: Dvořák’s most cheerful symphony and Schulhoff’s suite of dances, ranging from a Viennese waltz to a tango.
