More details
Helen Allen, soprano, and Philip Everingham, piano, present a Liederabend featuring the works of German and Austrian composers of the 19th and 20th centuries. The songs of Felix Mendelssohn — “The Mozart of the nineteenth century” (according to Robert Schumann) — and those of his less established pupil, composer and singer Josefine Lang, will mix with the lush, turn-of-the-century compositions of contemporaries Hans Pfitzner and Joseph Marx.
