A rising vocal star and two-time JUNO Award winner, Montreal-based singer and songwriter Dominique Fils-Aimé performs two nights in the Joe Henderson Lab with music from her latest album, Our Roots Run Deep, which took the 2024 JUNO for Vocal Jazz Album of the Year. “What she does with her voice is absolutely incredible” (NPR).

A six-time GRAMMY winner and 1993 inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Van Morrison is the definition of a living musical legend – a master storyteller and a mystical, enigmatic figure steeped in spiritualism and folklore. First coming to prominence in the mid-60s as front man of the Irish R&B band Them, who scored an international hit with the anthemic single “Gloria,” Morrison’s career as a solo artist began auspiciously with the release of the smash “Brown Eyed Girl” in 1967. The song is still Morrison’s calling card and even forty years after its release remained the 4th most requested song on American radio, paving the way for the 1968 masterpiece Astral Weeks and its blockbuster 1970 follow-up Moondance. Astral Weeks and Moondance have since been ranked as #17 and #65 respectively on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time and have cemented Morrison’s standing as an icon.
