A rising vocal star and two-time JUNO Award winner, Montreal-based singer and songwriter Dominique Fils-Aimé performs two nights in the Joe Henderson Lab with music from her latest album, Our Roots Run Deep, which took the 2024 JUNO for Vocal Jazz Album of the Year. “What she does with her voice is absolutely incredible” (NPR).

Oakland-born bassist, singer, and producer Aneesa Strings makes her long-awaited debut as a leader with this performance to celebrate the release of her new album.

An alumna of the SFJAZZ High School All-Stars program, Strings has had a long relationship with the organization and has been a recognized leader in the music community from a young age. Inspired by her time spent living in Oakland, Los Angeles, Michigan, and New York City, she has become an internationally recognized artist through her work with José James, Duckwrth, Kandace Springs, Terrace Martin, and her performance with L.A. rapper Ill Camille on an NPR Tiny Desk concert.
