For this special Joe Henderson Festival Hotplate, saxophonist Ranzel Merritt performs the immortal music from Henderson’s 1966 Blue Note album. A serious young musician, composer, and producer, Merritt is the son of acclaimed drummer Ranzel Merritt Sr., veteran of work with David Murray and Pharoah Sanders.
