In this transporting program, a veteran virtuoso performs the dramatic Violin Concerto by prolific Soviet composer Mieczysław Weinberg, a Shostakovich colleague. Mirga leads Mahler’s shortest and sweetest symphony, which concludes with a child’s view of life in heaven.
