It ended as the century's greatest love triangle when Brahms fell in love with Schumann's wife, Clara. The story of infidelity, madness and pangs of conscience is not just juicy gossip: the main characters turned all the strong emotions into poignant music. On the conductor's podium, German Sebastian Weigle is at home in the romantic repertoire - and with him is the up-and-coming Latvian pianist Lauma Skride.
