The music at this concert is "real" Viennese classics". Vienna was Europe's musical stronghold and melting pot in the latter part of the 18th century. Here, a new musical style emerged that, compared to the Italian Baroque and Rococo of the past, was less elaborate and more simple and expressive. All the music we know and practice today as "classical music" has its roots there.
