Camerata Pacifica

Camerata Pacifica is a distinguished chamber music ensemble that has been enriching the classical music landscape for over three decades. With a non-profit mission aimed at transforming the live performance experience of classical music, Camerata Pacifica has cultivated a community of engaged and curious listeners who appreciate the ensemble's intimate venues, innovative programming, and dynamic concert presentations. The ensemble is led by an Artistic Director and features a roster of world-class musicians known for their virtuosity and highly individual personalities. These artists contribute to the ensemble's reputation for dynamic performances that span the eclectic range of the chamber music repertoire. Camerata Pacifica's subscription series are presented across four Southern Californian cities: Santa Barbara, Ventura, San Marino, and downtown Los Angeles, allowing the ensemble to reach a broad audience. Camerata Pacifica places a strong emphasis on the personal expression inherent in chamber music, which is typically composed for small groups of musicians. The ensemble's performances seek to capture the intimacy and honesty that can be overshadowed in larger group performances, and they are often held in smaller venues that enhance the music's expressive qualities. In addition to performing existing works, Camerata Pacifica is actively involved in commissioning new pieces of music. The ensemble's Commissioning Program invites patrons to join in the creative process, offering a unique opportunity to be part of the journey from conception to performance of new compositions. To date, Camerata Pacifica's patrons have commissioned 16 pieces of music, with three more works currently in development. Camerata Pacifica also offers unique travel experiences through small group tours with exclusive itineraries. These tours are led by the ensemble's Artistic Director, Adrian Spence, and leverage the ensemble's network to provide musically themed trips or cultural explorations to various destinations. Furthermore, the ensemble has initiated The Nightingale Channel in collaboration with UCLA Health, providing hospitals and retirement communities with a dedicated video channel of concert performances. This initiative underscores the ensemble's belief in the healing and comforting power of music, offering curated programs, individual works, artist profiles, and panel discussions to viewers at their convenience. Camerata Pacifica is governed by a Board of Directors and managed by an administration team. The organization also provides employment opportunities and is dedicated to maintaining a high standard of artistic excellence and community engagement.
