Deep in the Scottish moors, trouble brews. Lucia is in love with Edgardo, but is forced into a loveless, arranged marriage to another man by her possessive, controlling brother. Driven to the brink of madness and despair, Lucia takes matters into her own hands, with horrific results.

Nashville Opera has brought opera to students around Middle Tennessee, introducing young audiences to the art form and filling in an enormous gap in arts education. 80,000 children and family members have experienced the arts through this program - many for the first time. Introduce your students to live opera with John Davies’ fun retelling of a classic children’s fairy tale, right in your school.

Goldie, a little girl who has a great passion for bugs and spiders, finds herself in a sticky situation when she stumbles upon the dwelling of the three singing bears. Hungry and lost, she eats from the soup bowls Mama Bear has left on the table to cool. When the three bears return to their lunch and discover a “soup thief” is on the loose, Baby Bear “Peek” leads a brave detective search and befriends Goldie Locks, our accidental soup thief, along the way! The ensuing adventure teaches children the true meaning of friendship and the importance of honesty. GOLDIE B. LOCKS AND THE THREE SINGING BEARS is a family-friendly 40-minute production sung in English and set to music from Mozart’s THE MAGIC FLUTE and catchy numbers by the beloved composer Offenbach.

When Marian Sang, is a program centered around the young adult friendly book, When Marian Sang, by Pam Muñoz Ryan, which tells the life story of Marian Anderson, the first Black opera singer to sing a principal role at the Metropolitan Opera in 1955.

This book incorporates the lyrics to several spirituals, and “My Country Tis Of Thee,” which she sang at her famous performance at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. in 1939.
