This program dances with music of our greatest natural resource. From Respighi's Roman Fountains to Debussy's epic celebration of the ocean along with a haunting hymn to the largest living animal on the earth.

Tchaikovsky's heart-on-the-sleeve passion is everywhere in this program, from the virtuosic delights of his violin concerto, to the deep power of his final symphony -- when he seems to foreshadow his own death only days after the premiere.

A true holiday favorite, this beloved comedy classic features renowned composer John Williams' charming and delightful score performed live to picture by the Sequoia Symphony Orchestra. Macaulay Culkin stars as Kevin McCallister, an 8-year-old boy who's accidentally left behind when his family leaves for Christmas vacation, and who must defend his home against two bungling thieves. Hilarious and heart-warming, Home Alone is fun for the entire family!

Home Alone In Concert

The romantic comedy is a standard film genre -- and this month, the Sequoia Symphony puts a musical spin on it. The theme runs through Rachmaninoff's romantic and exhilarating second piano concerto, and two fantastic orchestral showpieces from comic operas round out the program.

The Rom-Com

Many of our best-selling programs highlight one specific instrument: the piano. It seems that composers wrote some of their most inspired music for the piano with orchestral accompaniment. Come hear two of the best examples: Rachmaninoff’s “Rhapsody” was made even more famous after it was used extensively in the film “Somewhere in Time” and Gershwin’s famous Rhapsody in Blue got a sequel: his Second Rhapsody.
