Københavns Bachkor

Københavns Bachkor is an amateur choir that works seriously with classical music. We are based in Hellerup Church Parish Hall, where we rehearse every Monday from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM under the direction of our musical director and conductor, Christian Tophøj Buur. Our members come from different backgrounds and age ranges, but with a great common interest: to work ambitiously with classical choral music. Our focus is the choral works of the great masters with orchestra and soloists. The most recent major works we have performed include the St. Matthew and St. John Passions by JS Bach, Brahms' "Ein deutsches Requiem", the famous Requiems by Verdi and Mozart, and Frank Martin's oratorio "In Terra Pax". The choir has a tradition of performing three cantatas from Bach's Christmas Oratorio at Christmas, with the participation of the baroque orchestra "The Originals" and professional soloists.
