It is the evergreen classic about people like us: spoiled, self-absorbed people who are bored in their lives of luxury. The action has moved from the 1870s to 1980s Denmark – a decadent time with high hair, Rolex watches and tequila sunrises in the whiskey belt, with shrimp cocktail, Saturday chicken and permanent waves in the meatball belt and with the punk culture of misfit youth on the stone bridge. The operetta is sung in Danish by 6 of the country's best opera singers.

Mathias Hammeris a pianist, music mediator, radio and TV host. On TV, Mathias has been team captain in Den Klassiskes Musikquiz since the first season in 2016. He is also the host of the weekly hymn program “Før søndagen”, and has also hosted “Live fra Højskolesangbogen”, “På bøllelængde med Mathias Hammer”, “Orkestret flytter ind” and “DR2 Klassisk”.

New Year's concert

True to tradition, the Copenhagen Bach Choir and Orchestra will perform JS Bach's Christmas Oratorio, which is an impressive musical version of the Christmas Gospel and is one of Bach's greatest works consisting of an alternation between recitatives, beautiful arias and beautiful choral movements. The work consists of a total of 6 cantatas - one for each of the 6 days of Christmas, and in this year's concert cantatas 1, 2 and 3 will be performed, which deal with the story of the birth of the baby Jesus, the shepherds in the field and all the well-known scenes from the Christmas Gospel.
