In this original rock revue, we get to be a fly on the wall on a truly wacky farm in Wittenförden. Overworked people and highly sensitive animals sing about their joys and sorrows in the countryside. Cows vehemently rebel against classical music in the barn and demand "hard rock instead of Mozart." Three desperate pigs threaten to call Amnesty International when faced with the butcher. The Polish farmhand would love to leave the farm again, and who would have thought that the farmer's wife, Alma, used to be a fixture at the village disco? A dreamy mole longs to migrate south like a bird, and the enchanting farmer's daughter, Anja, sings about her big heart for all animals in a big cheerleader number... In short: on this farm, things really get wild.

Theater tent at Küchengarten

Things are tense at Hansel and Gretel's house: Dad has lost his job, their bank account is as empty as the fridge, and a family vacation is out of the question… Over something trivial, their father snaps and throws his children out of the apartment. Although he immediately regrets his outburst, Hansel and Gretel are now on their own. An adventurous journey through the urban jungle begins for them. Along the way, the two encounter strange characters, dangerous temptations, and new challenges. They can't find their way home and eventually end up in a truly devilish witch's house. A suspiciously friendly couple lives there, completely devoted to the ideal of eternal youth and beauty. But behind the shining facade lurks a dark secret: The couple has nothing good in mind for children…

What does it mean for a child when their mother or father suffers from a mental illness?

In sensitively told stories, David Stöhr and the ensemble convey to children and children of mentally ill parents that they are not alone in their situation – and that everything they feel and think is okay. They also show, however, where the limits of children's agency lie, and how beneficial it can be for both children and parents to seek help.

Kulturmühle Parchim

Alice Moody demands one hundred thousand pounds. Otherwise, she'll tell the police that Miriam murdered their own father. Miriam, however, has no money. As a final act of cruelty, her father left his entire estate not to her, but to her sister Annabel, who ran away from home as a teenager. No sooner does Annabel step through the garden gate than Alice intercepts her: instead of Miriam, she's the one who's going to pay. But Annabel has little desire to part with her newfound wealth so quickly.

Well, this could get interesting! Grandma died very old and very happily, but she left her family such precise instructions for her funeral that they're now facing several problems: Ludwigslust Palace isn't available for Grandma's service, the undertaker they wanted is now a struggling DJ in Güstrow, waiting for his big break, half the family is allergic to Grandma's favorite flowers (which Grandma knew, of course), and the eulogist can't come because his dog has depression. But Grandma's most unfulfillable wish is for harmony and peace among her loved ones. At least for one day! As fate would have it, in the old, musty community center where the family gathers, bad jokes, generational sensitivities, weariness of change and accusations all come together, along with an irrational but latent fear of being overrun by foreigners and the arrogance of a newly acquired Berlin environment that teaches them everything that's wrong with the people back home in East Germany. If Grandma had known that, she wouldn't have died.

Reality check: Who are Schiller's robbers? Are there still marauding gangs among us today, living in forests and lying in wait to rob and even murder? No! We have our police, after all... Yes! But they've just moved their hiding places. Perhaps the club is their new nighttime hideout. By day, they chain themselves to trees and fences in all kinds of weather. They stick themselves to the streets while airing their grievances on social media.

"There was a letter from the school on the table. The sixth one already."

"Welcome to the club. The 'You're in Shit Club.'" That's how Sammy greets the new boy Ebenezer on the street in a grim housing estate. Sammy and Ebenezer know each other by sight from school. Ebenezer is smart and comes from an educated family; Sammy is rough, lively, and struggles with learning and social skills. The two become fast friends. Ebenezer was forced to move with his parents into the squalid high-rise where Sammy also lives. "It's only for a short time," his father said, but Sammy laughs at that. "My father said that too."

Between sonic power and subtle wit, Brahms's Tragic Overture unfolds a dark, passionate soundscape that deeply moves the listener. This is followed by Strauss's Don Juan , an opulent firework display of drama and sensuality that musically brings the world of the legendary seducer to life. In subito con forza , we encounter a stark, high-contrast reflection on Beethoven – explosive and captivating. Finally, Beethoven himself appears in his Eighth Symphony, winking and surprising, virtuosic and anything but tame.

What a cheek! Here comes the hare hopping along, and he has nothing better to do than to hurl insults about everyone again. Mauli the mole is outraged, because this time it's his new friend, the good-natured hedgehog, who's in the crosshairs: not only is he said to have a potbelly, but also legs that are far too short and crooked. Mauli loses his temper: when the hedgehog wants to, he's as fast as lightning! So how about a race between the hare and the hedgehog? If the long-eared creature wins, he gets Mauli's beloved turnip patch. If he loses, he has to be nice to everyone from now on. The bet's on! For the vain hare and Nickel, his rabbit companion, victory seems a mere formality – however, the two haven't reckoned with the resourcefulness of Igelinchen, the hedgehog's friend…

“O horrible confusions of life, we hang here by the red thread!” – so begins the anthem of the Gallows Brothers by Christian Morgenstern (1871-1914).

And isn't it sometimes helpful to see things with a bit of gallows humor?
Morgenstern himself wrote that "gallows poetry" was a kind of worldview, and that one sees the world differently from the perspective of the gallows. With his gallows songs, he wanted to "spread a little intellectual lightness, cheerfulness, and freedom, to enliven the imagination, to thaw just a little of the music of the soul frozen in the post horn." Fifty years later, Marcel Reich-Ranicki recommended all the gallows songs in his canon of German-language poetry.

Poems like "The Picket Fence," "Sophie, the Hangman's Maid," and "The Moon Sheep" are legendary; "The Werewolf" is even part of the school curriculum. "You laugh yourself silly," Tucholsky already remarked, "and afterwards, having grown more serious, admire a profound lyricism that only veers into the playful at the last moment—and realize in the end that you've learned a philosophical sentence."

Not even death can be peaceful anymore. The funeral for company boss Gernot Steinfels was perfectly planned. The community had gathered, the pastor was ready, the wreath was arranged. Then, a heated discussion erupted within the management team of "Feinwäsche Steinfels GmbH" (Steinfels Fine Laundry Ltd.). Some of the company's female employees felt excluded by the text on the wreath's ribbon, "In deep mourning, your employees," and the marketing department feared a social media backlash. Horst Bohne, the prospective managing director, wanted no use for such "wokeness" as gender asterisks. And so, a clash ensued between Boomers and Generation Z, between feminists and conservatives, about Me Too, sexist corporate advertising, body shaming…

For the first time, the Schwerin Ballet brings one of Schwerin's most fascinating stories to the stage: the legends of "Petermännchen" (Little Peter). Jonathan dos Santos and his ballet company breathe new life into these ancient legends by uniting storytelling, music, and movement in a unique ballet production. This innovative approach aims to honor Schwerin's rich tradition and simultaneously build a bridge between past and present. At the same time, the ballet production, Quid si sic, connects people of all generations, allowing them to experience the timeless magic of these legends together.

I will love you, I will love you,
I will love you far beyond death." (Rio Reiser)

The Florida Bar was the most beautiful dive in town, and in times of hate and autocorrect, a shining refuge for all those seeking love, intoxication, and theory-fueled conversations. The most intense and insightful days and nights were those when Sugar made the Florida Bar his home. Sugar's glorious irrationality and razor-sharp intellect had always been a source of hope and joy for us, enabling us not only to endure the present but also to savor it. "And it's about love," Sugar would often say. "How am I supposed to understand you without love? How can I listen to you if there's no love? That's just a job. But I want to love you! I want to take away your fear of the future and make the present the best time of your life!" That was Sugar. But now Sugar had left without saying goodbye, and here we sat in the Florida Bar, wondering what would happen next. Was there still enough love left? Within us? And enough recklessness, intelligence, and anarchy? And why is the Florida Bar the only place of exuberance and dialectical thinking in this town? "Well," Sugar would have said, "Nobody's perfect. Not this town, not this country, and certainly not the lover. The lover doesn't want a long life, he wants the great feeling." And I think Sugar is right, because whatever the question is, the answer can only be: I will love you. Following the successful premiere of the Western Chico Zitrone in the Valley of Hope, the renowned actor and director Milan Peschel, together with the Schwerin acting ensemble, has developed a new theatrical evening brimming with love.

When Claire's sister Luise goes to study in the USA, Claire takes over her apartment and joins Luise's successful fashion vlog. "Heimatkleid" (Homeland Dress) is the first label she's supposed to present. The concept – production without exploitation, sewn in Germany – sounds plausible, and the dress looks good too.

Where there is singing, settle down. Evil people have no songs."

The ensemble of the Young State Theatre Parchim has demonstrated its high musical quality for many years. After forays into the realms of German pop, rock, and popular music, the question arose: what could they surprise audiences with this season? Fittingly, given the city's 800th anniversary, they chose folk songs. These songs, many centuries old, describe everyday and unique events such as birth, nature, love, work, and farewell. In short, they encompass an entire human life.

It can't always stay like this.

How can we live together?"

Shouldn't the oceans also have a voice in a parliament that thinks about the future? And the forests? And, taking this idea further, shouldn't gender equality also be represented in this parliament? The Parliament of Things is a project for the democratic participation of young people, based on the ideas of the French sociologist Bruno Latour. As a theatrical parliament in which scientists, activists, and actors make the decision-making processes of a democratic society tangible, it aims to spark curiosity about the upcoming transformations that the future demands of us as a society. Young people and young adults are invited to hear the voices of the forests and wetlands in the six sessions of the Parliament of Things and to vote on complex issues.

"At the beginning of every performance, I always say, 'It doesn't matter at all, today I'm only going half speed.' And at some point, I open my eyes and realize I'm going full throttle, the sweat is just pouring down my face... and catharsis!"

The curtain rises, come what may. And hopefully, no one notices that quite a few things are going wrong in this comedy – and not just for the couple in the play. They've accidentally invited not only their good friend and her new partner to the dinner party, but also her ex-husband. Under no circumstances can the two of them meet. In a series of ludicrous actions, the couple tries to cover up the mishap and prevent disaster as best they can. But there's even more turmoil behind the scenes! Right at the beginning of the play, one of the actors simply can't remember his lines. He thought just moments ago that he was there to do some voice-over work...

I'm running from my memories. For ages now. Until I stumbled across my old diary. Moonlight Tariff. It had a happy ending. But life went on. My name is Cora Hübsch, my children are grown, and my marriage is fragile. Too much routine, too little adventure. Tonight, my life is thrown into disarray. The old guilt, the shadowy figure in the photograph. Is it coincidence? Or a last chance?

Luckily for Sneiwitt, the clever Gundula is already on to something. And indeed: Lafrenz has made a bet with his best friend and womanizer, Säutmund. If Säutmund is convinced that all women are easy, then it should be child's play for him to seduce Sneiwitt and, as proof, get his hands on her stocking. Benjamin Barker returns to London after years of exile – with a new name and sinister intentions. As Sweeney Todd, he opens a barbershop above Mrs. Lovett's bakery on Fleet Street. He wants revenge on Judge Turpin, who once unjustly deported him to Australia in order to steal his wife and daughter. Todd's razor is meant to send Turpin to his doom. The macabre business model he devises with Mrs. Lovett suits him perfectly: a fresh shave is half the battle. The customers who take a seat in Todd's barber's chair end up one floor below – in Mrs. Lovett's meat pies, which soon become incredibly popular. While beggars wander the streets outside and sailors sing of love, madness takes hold of the barber – and sweeps everything away with it.

The impoverished soldier Franz Woyzeck is barely able to provide his girlfriend Marie and their newborn child with even the most basic necessities. Desperate, he works as a medical patient for a doctor and as a henchman for a captain.
Both humiliate Woyzeck terribly and ruthlessly exploit his financial hardship.
A drum major courts Marie, and, lured by the prospect of a better life, she enters into an affair with him. Meanwhile, Woyzeck suffers from hallucinations and hears voices. Marie's infidelity drives him to a frenzy, and in a jealous rage, he stabs her to death.

Julian Dietz and Nils Höddinghaus have developed their own unique version and form of Woyzeck from Büchner's fragment, enriching it above all with surprising music, sounds, voices, and noises.
They masterfully slip into all the roles of the play and surprise with their own interpretation.

I once knew a guy named Sterni who was a doorman at a state-subsidized dive bar. "What really matters," he always said, "is overcoming gravity." But the time of utopias was over, and I was on my way to a meeting with the boss, full of anticipation. Then Sterni, smiling happily, stepped in front of me and said, "Despite deadly dangers, I overcame all the obstacles that barred my access to hidden phenomena. I discovered the living cell, found the building block of the elements, and now I'm going to venture into space. What do you say, want to come along?" And then he showed me his rocket. As an enlightened European, I could see immediately, of course, that the thing would never fly, but he just said, "Now let's give that engine some gas," opened two beers, and off we went. Unfortunately, we then had a falling out at an intergalactic convenience store over the question of why all bodies fall at the same rate regardless of their mass, and I haven't seen him since.

Tessa Ensler is one of the best. As a criminal defense attorney, she is unbeatable, defending countless men accused of sexual assault with skillful negotiation strategies and compelling success under cross-examination. Whether the perpetrator is guilty or not is irrelevant to her, because in the courtroom, only the legal truth counts. Tessa is concerned with solid evidence, with gaps in the victims' testimonies, with upholding the presumption of innocence, and with fighting for the justice system. A system in which she, as one of the few, has made a career and in which she believes with the deepest conviction. Until something happens that she never thought possible. Tessa herself becomes the victim of a sexual assault. Her life threatens to collapse. But Tessa decides to fight. From defense attorney, she becomes prosecutor herself and experiences the proceedings in the courtroom, the accusations and prejudgments, now from the other perspective.

A final dance, a sonic cosmos, a transition: Sibelius' Valse triste transports the listener to a melancholic mood of farewell, while his 7th Symphony, with its single-movement structure, conveys the impression of a powerful inner awakening. Mazzoli, with modern, experimental sounds, creates a fascinating sonic cosmos – for Orbiting Spheres – that makes the infinity of the universe tangible. Death and Transfiguration represents the dramatic transition from life to death – a powerful and simultaneously sublime exploration of the theme of transfiguration.

There are many reasons for men to climb a mountain: the passion for extreme sports, a sudden midlife crisis, or perhaps to commemorate a hiking-loving friend, Christian, who recently passed away. Steffen, Daniel, and Toni—best friends since their university days—embark on a two-day summit attempt. But it's not just the mountain they're tackling; their lives are also experiencing ups and downs. Steffen, the womanizer and heartthrob with commitment issues, is about to get married and desperately hopes for his friends' support. Daniel hasn't gotten over his breakup, and Toni has been carrying around an unused condom for three years because he just can't seem to find love. This hike becomes not only a journey of self-discovery in matters of the heart for the three of them, but also puts their friendship to the test—with sharp edges, blunt honesty, and plenty of humor.

When Hamlet returns to the Danish court, the old order has been shattered. Hamlet's father, the King of Denmark, has been murdered by his own brother. Unseen, unpunished. The murderer, Claudius, now sits on the throne himself and has married Hamlet's mother, Gertrude, the old king's widow. The young prince is determined to bring justice to his father's cause and avenge him. But what is he willing to sacrifice? What or whom must he offer? To avoid detection in his plan for revenge, Hamlet misleads the court. He dissembles, feigning madness. Increasingly, the lines between imagination and reality blur, doubt gnaws at his conscience and willpower. And while Hamlet threatens to break under the weight of his legacy, Prince Fortinbras prepares for war against Denmark.
