After highly dramatic productions such as "Tosca", "Nabucco", "La traviata" and "La bohème", the fairytale opera "The Magic Flute", which is popular with young and old, will now be performed on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. Mozart's masterpiece is one of the most famous, most performed and most visited operas in music history.

Opera Classica Europa welcomes the new year with a top-class concert on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, in the Alte Oper Frankfurt and will play the most beautiful melodies from opera and operetta, including "Dein ist mein ganzes Herz", "Lippen schweigen", "Das Wolgalied", "Casta Diva" and "Nessun Dorma".

Big names in the opera world, such as star soprano Elena Moșuc or world-class tenor Martin Muehle, who will be appearing at this New Year's concert, are not usually seen together on one evening. The overall winner of the 1st Opera Singing Competition in Honor of Romana Vaccaro, baritone Hongyu Chen and several other opera soloists will also be heard.

At this concert highlight, the impressive basilica of the world-famous Eberbach Monastery in the Rheingau is the setting for a large gala concert of classical music. Visitors can look forward to a wide-ranging musical program that is impressively presented in the historic atmosphere and the special acoustics of the basilica. Popular pieces by Vivaldi, Mozart, Verdi, Mendelssohn and other great masters of music enrich this extraordinary concert evening. The committed opera singers from all over the world present, for example, "La donna e mobile" from Rigoletto, the "Flower Duet" from Lakmé or Schubert's "Ave Maria". In addition, a large choir provides powerful vocal performances such as "O Fortuna" from Carl Orff's Carmina Burana.

The Opera Classica Europa Orchestra will be playing, consisting of around 50 first-class musicians from leading European radio and opera orchestras.

The great Viennese operetta, which originated in the middle of the 19th century, was given a brilliant new edition in 1905 with Franz Lehár's global success 'The Merry Widow', ushering in the so-called 'Silver Operetta Era'. Guglielmo und Ferrando sind zwei Offiziere des Neapolitanischen Heeres. Sie sitzen zusammen im Kaffee mit Ihrem Freund der alte Philosoph Don Alfonso. Die beiden jungen Männer schwärmen von ihren Verlobten und besingen deren Treue zu Ihnen. Don Alfonso, der durch das Leben zynisch geworden ist, behauptet, kein Mädchen sei ewig treu. Er sagt, bei der Treue der Frauen sei es wie beim Phoenix, alle reden davon, doch niemand habe ihn je gesehen. Die beiden jungen Männer sind entrüstet und fordern ein Duell. Worauf Alfonso ihnen eine Wette anbietet. Don Alfonso besticht die Haushälterin Despina, damit sie beim Spiel mitmacht. Ferrando und Guglielmo treten als Albaner verkleidet ein und versuchen die beiden schönen Damen. Fiordiligi und Dorabella zu verführen. Die Komödie nimmt Ihrem Lauf. Am Ende der Oper Don Alfonso arrangiert eine Doppeltrauung mit Despina verkleidet als Notar. Kaum ist die Tinte unter dem Ehevertrag trocken, kündigt sich die überraschende Ankunft der Offiziere an. Die beiden Herren fliehen und die beiden Frauen müssen den beiden Rückkehrer beschämt alles gestehen. Mit einem grandiosen Schluss-Ensemble endet dieses großartige musikalische Komödie von Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Rossinis "Barbier von Sevilla" wartet mit den bekannten Figuren der Comedia dell´arte in der ungetrübten Spielfreude der itelienischen Buffo-Tradition auf. Die mannigfachen Schwierigkeiten, die der Heirat des Grafen Almaviva mit dem Mündel Rosina des Doktors Bartolo, der sie, genauer: ihr Vermögen, selbst gern heiraten möchte, entgegenstehen, werden durch den Barbier Figaro - sicherlich eine der eindrucksvollsten Gestalten der Operngeschichte - überwunden. Bereits die literarische Vorlage des Librettos, eine 1775 entstandene Komödie von Beaumarchais, behandelte Figaro und den Grafen beinahe schon als Gleichgestellte: ein ungeheuer mutiger Vorgriff auf die noch lange ausstehende Demokratisierung der Gesellschaft.

Who doesn't know the famous 'Habanera' of the seductive Carmen from the first act of Georges Bizet's opera masterpiece of the same name? Alongside this beautiful aria, through which Carmen magnificently illustrates that love for her is merely a game, many other famous melodies can be heard, such as 'La fleur que tu m’avais jetée', the well-known flower aria of Don José, 'Je dis que rien ne m’épouvante', the touching aria of Micaёla, 'Toreador', the song of the glorious bullfighter Escamillo, and last but not least, the beloved overture.
The new production of the opera 'Carmen', featuring international vocal soloists, opera choir, and orchestra, is as always in the capable hands of Michael Vaccaro, owner and director of Opera Classica Europa. Thus, the audience can once again look forward to a classical performance with splendid costumes and atmospheric lighting.
With the opera 'Carmen', Georges Bizet has achieved an impressive portrayal of human emotions and passions in 19th-century Seville. The Spanish gypsy Carmen is well aware of her impact on men. On the one hand, she appears very affectionate, romantic, and tender, but on the other hand, also selfish and calculating. All men are at her feet, and she relishes it. However, Don José wants to have her all to himself. Carmen is flattered by a soldier's courtship, but at the same time, she feels trapped by his demanding love, as if in a cage. She wants to remain free and control her own life. While Escamillo, Carmen's new lover, is celebrated in the bullfighting arena, the disappointed Don José waits outside for Carmen to confront her...

Opera Classica Europa is delighted to present a new production of Giacomo Puccini's 'La Bohème', one of the world's most popular operas, at Lindenfels Castle.
The story takes place in Paris around the year 1830. It is Christmas and of four penniless artists who share a small garret together, at least one always somehow manages to find money for food and firewood. Although hunger and cold demand a lot of them, they don't let their good mood get the better of them and enjoy the unconventional and unattached artist's life of the Parisian bohemian scene. But when one of the four young men, Rodolfo, falls madly in love with the terminally ill Mimì, these very circumstances do not bode well for the fate of the two lovers. In addition to the dramatic plot, it is Puccini's wonderful music that gives you goosebumps. Popular arias such as 'Che gelida mania' and 'Mi chiamano Mimì or the love duet 'O soave fanciulla' have thrilled audiences for more than 100 years.
Opera Classica Europa presents a classical performance with contemporary costumes and atmospheric lighting, performed by internationally renowned opera soloists, opera choir and orchestra. The direction of Puccini's global success will once again be in the proven hands of Michael Vaccaro, the artistic director of Opera Classica Europa.
