The Trip To Vega is an audiovisual journey through optical illusion, video, and acoustic and electronic music, imagined as a voyage to Vega, 24 light-years from Earth. Through images and live performances, Jeff Mills and harpist Kety Fusco create a sonic and visual tale set on a remote planet, suspended between cosmic wonder and the imminent demise of its star.

Fabbri's guitar tells its story, essentially narrating "stories" in music, spiritual landscapes in notes. In this concert, the Roman maestro presents his work dedicated to Lucio Battisti, the result of the book he created with guitar transcriptions of Lucio Battisti's most iconic songs, entitled "LUCIO BATTISTI 14 great successes arranged for guitar," published by Hal Leonard Europe. This work was followed by a version for guitar and strings entitled " Battisti in cover per chitarra," distributed on digital channels by Sony Music. The video for "Amarsi un po'," directed by Sara Ceracchi, is also available on the Vevo channel .

Santa Cecilia will host a meeting of extraordinary cultural significance. The event marks an unprecedented occasion: two key figures in the Italian intellectual scene will converse together for the first time in the Santa Cecilia Hall. Journalist and writer  Corrado Augias  will explore the secrets of  Siegfried  in a one-on-one conversation with  Quirino Principe , a musicologist of undisputed authority on Wagner. Music historian Sandro Cappelletto will also participate and offer a dialogue  .

A concert that crosses visible and invisible borders, real and internal geographies, memories and possibilities. ATTRAVERSA-MENTI is a musical journey through the Mediterranean as a space of encounter, migration of ideas, cultural resistance, and imagination. As Iain Chambers writes, the Mediterranean is "a sea whose sounds exceed pre-existing maps" : a place that escapes rigid maps and closed identities, continually generating new routes, new affiliations, and new imaginations. Radiodervish captures this tension and, in their songs, weaves together sounds, languages, and landscapes from across the shores of their shared sea, transforming music into a gesture of listening and connection. Between tradition and contemporaneity, Arabic melodies, Mediterranean songwriting, and musical exploration converge to draw new emotional and cultural maps.

A Roman singer-songwriter, he is part of the second wave of what was known as "The Young Folkstudio" in the 1970s. Based on an idea by Boss Giancarlo Cesaroni, these guys (in addition to Carlo, Fabrizio Emigli, Vincenzo Incenso, and others) performed in many Italian theaters and squares. Carlo, despite having undertaken medical studies, never abandoned his passion for writing and performing in public. In the late 1980s, he collaborated with Mario Scotti, Massimo Buzzi (Francesco De Gregori's bassist and drummer), and Stefano Senesi on keyboards. With them, he recorded an EP, "Un'altra terra," on the  Elikonia label , which is now unobtainable. Subsequently, three CDs were released: " La fortuna di un giorno qualunque " (arranged by guitarist Ruggero Brunetti) on the  Storie di Note label ; " Giallo su nero " on the Elikonia label   , and his penultimate work, " Prove per non affogare ," also on the Storie di note label, arranged by pianist Edoardo Petretti and bassist Luca Pirozzi.

If one were to imagine an Italian musician celebrating a musical giant like Miles Davis, in the year marking the centenary of his birth, the first name that would surely come to mind is Paolo Fresu . His new recording project, "Kind of Lives," is the concert version of the successful musical and theatrical opera "Kind of Miles," written and performed by Fresu himself, which has been performed over 50 times. A sonic fresco that evokes the creative and visionary universe of one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century, retracing his music through original compositions.

The Köln Concert returns to the stage with two complementary visions: classical pianist Maki Namekawa plays the first and last parts note by note, while jazz pianist Thomas Enhco improvises around the central section. The performance combines fidelity to the score with improvisational freedom, demonstrating how the same music can be interpreted through distinct approaches. The original concert, recorded in Cologne in 1975, was born under challenging conditions: imperfect piano playing and technical tension, transformed by Jarrett into four parts rich with recognizable themes and complex variations.

Each of his concerts with the historic Five Elements group, with their lightning-fast grooves and impetuous solos, is an unrepeatable experience .

The band was born with a very specific purpose, in the years when reggae and rocksteady music resonated in the streets and served as a form of community and socialization during a time when social unrest was at its height and youth were at their most aware and active. Clarinetist and multi-instrumentalist Zoe Pia is one of the leading figures on the new Sardinian music scene, a refined interpreter of the precious, ancient Sardinian instrument, the launeddas. Freshly released, trumpeter, percussionist, and composer Domenico Rizzuto presents his new album, Disastri Quotidiani, at the Roma Jazz Festival, a musical tale in which every sound is a fragment of a collective experience. Afro-Mediterranean rhythms, suspended atmospheres, and electronic sounds blend in an ongoing dialogue between improvisation and structure, tradition and experimentation.

Murubutu , born Alessio Mariani , began his exploration of hip hop in the early 1990s. A philosophy and history teacher at the Matilde di Canossa high school in Reggio Emilia, in 2000 he began reflecting on the interaction between academic content and rap music.

Recognized as one of the most talented guitarists on the international jazz scene, Eleonora Strino took her first steps in Roberto De Simone's orchestra, then after meeting double bassist Greg Cohen in Berlin, she launched her international career. In 2022, she participated in the International Guitars Night tour , the most important and long-running traveling festival dedicated to the acoustic guitar, and was the first woman to be part of the legendary trio The Great Guitarists . A musician, composer, and teacher, in 2026 she released her new album "Lumithia" and debuted with a tour of the United States.

The Nexus Quartet is a young Neapolitan group inspired by contemporary jazz. Their music blends European jazz influences with the energy and language of the latest American scene, while retaining their roots, evident in their compositions and ongoing melodic exploration. Together, they forge a musical path in which lyricism and timbral exploration blend with groove and improvisation, always maintaining an open dialogue between tradition and modernity. Regularly active on the Italian scene, they have also taken their music abroad, with significant experiences including a long-term residency at a renowned jazz club in Bahrain, which consolidated their artistic identity and the group's harmony. At the Roma Jazz Festival, they will present their debut album, "Appunti di Viaggio," due out in September.

The meeting between Third Coast Percussion , a GRAMMY Award- winning ensemble , and Jlin , a Pulitzer Prize -winning composer, producer, and performer , has given birth to a project that spans and revitalizes ten years of collaboration, showcasing one of the most fertile and unpredictable alliances in contemporary music. This dialogue could only have occurred in Chicago: on one side, the precision, rigor, and timbral plasticity of one of the most innovative percussion quartets on the international scene; on the other, the radical writing of Jlin, an artist originally from Gary, Indiana, who, drawing on the legacy of Chicago Footwork, has constructed a highly personal, physical, layered, polyrhythmic sonic language capable of uniting club culture, the avant-garde, and formal architecture.

"My family was from Trani...": this is the opening line, sung by the recorded voice of Astor Piazzolla, of the show "Tango. Historias de Astor," in which Argentine dancer and choreographer Miguel Ángel Zotto pays homage to the Argentine musician and composer of Italian origin Astor Pantaléon Piazzolla, born in Mar del Plata in 1921 and died in Buenos Aires in 1992. The show, written, choreographed, and directed by Miguel Ángel Zotto, tells the story of Piazzolla , universally considered the father of modern tango. It was performed for the first time in Trani in 2021, on the centenary of the musician's birth.

The 100 Cellos were formed in 2012 at the Teatro Valle Occupato, following the meeting between Enrico Melozzi and Giovanni Sollima. From that spark, a remarkable career unfolded: from the May Day Concert in Piazza San Giovanni before hundreds of thousands of people, to international tours in Dubai, Tokyo, Osaka, Budapest, and Madrid. They have performed in iconic venues, from La Scala to the Greek Theatre in Taormina, and the Auditorium Parco della Musica. This ensemble has become recognized globally for its ability to redefine the language of the cello.

On the final day of the festival , Romaeuropa anticipates the celebrations for Philip Glass's 90th birthday , which will fall in January 2027, with Philip Glass Afternoon Sessions , an entire afternoon dedicated to one of the composers who most radically redefined the soundscape of our time .

At the heart of this tribute, Third Coast Percussion (the GRAMMY Award-winning Chicago quartet, the first percussion ensemble in history to win recognition in the classical category) brings to the stage  Aguas da Amazonia , one of Glass’s most hypnotic and visionary scores, reinterpreted through an expanded, mobile, immersive universe of timbres.

More than twenty-five years after its release, Enzo Favata returns with one of the most iconic projects of his career, "Atlantico," a 1999 album that marked a turning point for Italian world music, intertwining jazz, South American sounds, poetry, and sonic narrative. Initially conceived as a literary homage to the great South American writers, "Atlantico" has over time become a musical journey spanning Italy, Europe, and South America, with over 400 concerts worldwide. This is a long-awaited and hoped-for reunion for the Quintet—comprised of Favata, Daniele Di Bonaventura, Marcello Peghin, Salvatore Maltana, and UT Gandhi—who celebrates a work packed with emotional landscapes, evocative rhythms, and musical stories at the Roma Jazz Festival, in which Sardinia and South America merge in a sonic embrace.

Legend has it that Davis was inspired to write "Sketches of Spain" after accompanying his wife, Frances Taylor Davis, to a performance by flamenco dancer Roberto Iglesias. Fascinated by the discovery of traditional Spanish music, he recorded one of his seminal albums, marking the opening of jazz to world music.

A pilgrimage in verse and music on the eighth centenary of St. Francis of Assisi

American singer-songwriter, poet, and artist Patti Smith returns to the Auditorium Parco della Musica for a stop on her Italian tour , Words and Music - Where Francis Walked, a tribute to Saint Francis of Assisi on the anniversary of the saint's death, who passed away eight hundred years ago in October 1226.

The concert, conceived as an acoustic performance, is not a simple live performance. The stage alternates between classic songs, poetic lyrics, and personal memories, creating a narrative that traces the artistic and personal journey of the American musician, always described as "the priestess of rock."

Feminae is the title of Tosca's new theater tour , directly linked to her album of the same name, released on April 24, 2026. Sergio , along with his longtime bandmates Amedeo Ariano (who will be replaced in some concerts by Michele Santoleri , a talented young drummer), Luca Bulgarelli on double bass, and Daniele Tittarelli on soprano saxophone, will retrace his twenty-year career through his best-known songs and some of his instrumental compositions from his solo piano albums, featuring the cello of Giovanna Famulari , a highly sensitive musician who has been collaborating with him for four years. In addition to his most beloved songs, there will also be some of his latest creations, collected on the album "La pioggia che non cade mai," released on November 28, 2025, which gives its title to the new 2026 tour. The show reflects the artist's soul and unique musical approach, a perfect combination of intense moments of poetry, imbued with persuasive jazz atmospheres, and engaging Latin rhythms that ignite the live performance with warm bossa nova vibes .
