Led by a member of the War Horse puppetry team, this workshop is designed to give participants a hands-on understanding of how to create characters through puppetry and physicality. The workshop will provide you with a taste of the devising process through which Joey and the other horses of the show are brought to life, and how the puppeteers respond to both one another and other actors on stage to conjure the animals at the heart of War Horse. This workshop may also be supported by members of the War Horse company.

Rob is best known for writing and starring in their hit show My Son’s a Queer (But What Can You Do?), which won the 2022 WhatsOnStage Award for Best Off-West End show and, following two West End runs, was nominated for a 2023 Laurence Olivier Award.

Through the workshops, you will explore the story of The Creakers, learning and staging a song from the brand-new musical. Led by professional theatre practitioners, our workshops are designed to be a safe space for 8-12 year olds to explore their creativity through music and performance. This much-loved show returns to celebrate Fuel’s 20th birthday. Perception Gap is an African Diaspora performance that explores the psychological pressures faced by a refugee-outsider. This evolving work in progress is accompanied by European classical imagery (12th to 20th century) featuring a Black subject, with Ric White, a multi-instrumentalist and improviser, creating soundscapes using saxophone and flute while exploring live and electronic sound manipulation.

RM Band Plymouth is based at HMS Raleigh in Torpoint, Cornwall. The band undertakes a wide variety of ceremonial work of national importance, as well as fulfilling its main role of providing music for the ships and establishments of the Royal Navy.

Having been involved in both local and national commemorations in 2022 and 2023, the band, with their elective mix of music, is looking forward to performing to their local audience.
