Baruch Performing Arts Center (BPAC) is a dynamic cultural hub located within Baruch College of the City University of New York. Situated at One Bernard Baruch Way, New York, NY 10010, it is easily accessible on 25th Street between Lexington and 3rd Avenues. Since its inception in 2003, BPAC has been dedicated to fostering a conversation among various disciplines, including art, science, and the humanities, while reflecting the diversity of Baruch’s student body. The mission of BPAC is to present a wide spectrum of programming that includes theater, music, dance, literary and spoken word, film, and discussions. These events are designed to be informative through their relevant content and engaging through unique experiences. The center enriches the cultural appreciation of Baruch students, faculty, and alumni, and serves as a resource for all New Yorkers. BPAC's programming extends beyond the classroom, offering Baruch students and the wider community opportunities to engage with intellectual inquiry, civic issues, and the cultural richness of New York City. The center has hosted over 1,000 programs across five spaces, attracting more than 54,000 attendees during the 2018-19 season alone. Its offerings are known for emphasizing cross-cultural works, art intersecting with social justice, intimate venue experiences, and new works created through artist residencies. Notable presentations have included collaborations with esteemed theatre companies, dance troupes, chamber music ensembles, and jazz artists. BPAC is also the New York home of the Alexander String Quartet and has hosted world premieres and U.S. premieres of significant opera-theatre productions. The center's jazz series has showcased Grammy Award-winning performers, and its discussion programs have featured prominent writers, actors, and thought leaders. BPAC's commitment to accessibility is evident in its wheelchair and accessible seating policy, assistive listening devices for the hearing-impaired, and wheelchair-accessible restrooms. The center's venues, including the Engelman Recital Hall, Nagelberg Theatre, and Mason Hall, are also available for rent, offering a space for a variety of events and performances. The center is supported by generous donors and offers several regular series, such as the Joel Segall Great Works Reading Series, the Aaron and Freda Silberman Concert Series, and the Milt Hinton Jazz Perspectives Concert Series. These series are made possible through the support of various trusts, alumni, and the Weissman School of Arts & Sciences. BPAC encourages public support through donations, which help create new and enduring programs for the Baruch community and the general public. The center's staff includes dedicated professionals in production, artist relations, general management, and finance, all working together to deliver a high-quality cultural experience.
