==The Choral Project== '''The Choral Project''' is a distinguished choral ensemble based in the Bay Area, renowned for its high-quality performances of choral literature. It was founded in 1996 by Artistic Director Daniel Hughes. The ensemble has been lauded by ''The Mercury News'' as a Bay Area jewel, praised for its exceptional choir and its ability to connect text with music, as well as singer with spectator. The group has earned international recognition, performing at concert performances and choral festivals worldwide to critical acclaim. Their repertoire is diverse, reflecting the region's multicultural heritage and showcasing a broad range of traditions in choral music. They are committed to both preserving classic works and promoting new pieces, often premiering compositions by contemporary composers. The Choral Project has collaborated with other renowned vocal ensembles, such as The King's Singers in 2016, a concert highlighted by ''Bachtrack.com'' for its near-perfect musical quality. Similarly, a 2014 concert with Canadian Brass was highly praised by ''San Francisco Classical Voice'', marking it as one of the most memorable concert experiences. The ensemble has a history of successful tours and competitions. Notably, in October 2011, they toured Northern Spain, participating in the International Choral Competition in Tolosa and performing to full houses. In 2007, they achieved multiple awards at the California International Choral Festival & Competition in San Luis Obispo. Additionally, in 2004, The Choral Project secured 2nd place at the International Eisteddfod in Wales, receiving the highest individual score for their performance of Juris Karlsons's ''Neslegtais gredzens''. Their first international tour in June 2001 took them to Mexico and Costa Rica, where they received standing ovations and performed on Mexican National Radio. Their collaborative efforts have also been significant, having performed with the Cafe Chorale in Costa Rica. The Choral Project has worked with numerous composers, premiering pieces by Stephen Schwartz, Nico Muhly, and others. The ensemble has produced ten albums to date, including ''The Cycle of Life'', ''Americana'', and ''20: An Anniversary Compilation'', which features live performances from two decades of their history. These recordings are available on platforms such as iTunes. The Choral Project continues to be an influential force in the choral music scene, known for its innovative presentations and dedication to the choral art form.
