Billy the Kid

Celebrate the beginning of summer with some of the greatest hits of classic rock. From "Hotel California" to "Desperado" to "Take it Easy" and "Take it to the Limit," you will be amazed at how many fantastic hit songs will be featured in this rocking tribute concert.

Heartache Tonight

The ASO's year of Stravinsky comes to an epic conclusion with the most influential musical work of the 20th century. Like Beethoven a century before, the influence of Stravinsky's masterpiece is undeniable, as is its percussive and relentless drive. Dominic Cheli returns to Adrian to play Rachmaninoff's most performed concerto which will amaze your ears and eyes and capture your heart.

Rite Of Spring

Stravinsky and Mozart both wrote music that positively sparkles and shimmers on the stage and in your ear. Two of the best examples are combined here. Stravinsky orchestrated and arranged some charming dances from the 18th century for his ballet "Pulcinella" and Mozart ended his symphonic output with this famous 41st. Its courageous skill and scale have given it the nickname "Jupiter."

The ASO’s Annual Film Night gets a lift with music from many of the Harry Potter films. Costumes and fun have come to characterize this yearly program, which has become one of our most attended programs.

Harry's Wondrous World

One of Adrian's most popular holiday traditions is our seasonal celebration of song. Join choirs, soloists, orchestra, and more as we present some of the best-loved holiday tunes to help you take a break from the stress of the holidays and decompress with a delightful evening of charming Christmas songs.

Ho-Ho-Holidays

Dig a little deeper into Stravinsky at this concert with his Carnival piece, "Petrushka," the story of puppets brought to life. We also welcome pianist Henry Kramer for his first appearance with the ASO, where he will bound his way through Beethoven's 4th piano concerto.

Kick off our year of Stravinsky with his first breakaway hit, The Firebird. The compelling story and music capture the listener and catapulted the composer to international fame. Violinist Danielle Belen joins the strings and percussion sections in Leonard Bernstein's only violin concerto, the heady "Serenade," right after we open the season with the pageantry of Glinka's festive overture.

Summer kicks off with fun, frolic, and frivolity with the swinging sounds of Paul Keller and the ASO musicians. The program is a trip through some of the best-known swing classics, from “It Don’t Mean a Thing” to “Sing, Sing, Sing.”

Sing Into Summer

Opening the program is Valerie Coleman's salute to front-line workers: Seven O'Clock Shout. David Kim joins us from the Philadelphia Orchestra with Tchaikovsky's emotion-packed violin concerto and will amaze you with a thrilling musical finale. Pictures at an Exhibition ends our concert with enormous orchestral forces, massive sounds, and a trip around a gallery in one of the finest examples of musical storytelling.

Great Gates!

Leah Crocetto returns to Dawson Auditorium for a rollicking evening of songs with friends — pianist, Ronny Michael Greenberg, and bass-baritone, Christian Pursell. The trio, Momenti, are virtuosic, multi-faceted, multi-genre, and have a flair for music that pulls at the heartstrings. The trio will fill the Dawson Auditorium stage with classical sensibility along with influences of jazz, musical theater, folk, pop, blues, and church music.

Come together for our annual holiday program. What better way to experience one of the best parts of the season? Take a break from shopping and running errands and celebrate with our orchestra and singers of all ages, soloists, choirs, and more. This program is one of our most popular and features music in just about every genre you can think of.

Together for the Holidays

Tchaikovsky's Ukrainian heritage comes center stage in his Second Symphony, chock full of the country's folk songs. Our soloist comes from the LA Philharmonic in Barber's virtuosic violin concerto after the program opens with a delightful ode to our nighttime companion in Dai Wei's The Dancing Moonlight sponsored by the New Music Society. Become a New Music Society member to support the creation and performance of new music.

Folk Inspirations

Help us kick off our season of the concertmaster with two debuts. First, Detroit Symphony Orchestra's associate concertmaster Kim Kaloyanides Kennedy joins us for a short and delightful concerto. And our new concertmaster, Michael Romans, takes on the challenging solo lines written for the role of Scheherazade, the original desperate housewife, who conjured evocative stories for the Sultan.
