Horizons will feature a curated repertoire that celebrates the incredible talent of female and BIPOC composers. Through their compositions, we aim to shed light on the beauty, resilience, and unique perspectives of marginalized communities in our world. This quasi-theatrical presentation will include music by Rosephanye Powell, Jennifer Lucy Cook, and Corie Brown. The centerpiece for the program will be Ron Kean’s breathtaking “The Journey of Harriet Tubman,” with soloist Juanita Harris.

This exciting concert will include performances of Broadway classics and musical theatre favourites by our flagship choir, the RHP Youth Choir, and featured local drag queen artists, Lady Muse and Special K. Our musical selections will tell our community's stories, shining a light on our experiences and celebrating queer love.

Four waves of feminism, and we Still Ain't Satisfied. Join MUSE this season to explore the triumphs and struggles of feminism throughout history. From first-wave feminism focusing on overturning legal inequalities to the fourth-wave's emphasis on intersectionality and body positivity, this Fall concert features feminist and social justice songs that echo the spirit of perseverance and change, coupled with the stories of why these songs need to exist in the first place.

San Diego Women’s Chorus is excited to invite the community to our upcoming winter concert, Hope for the Holidays, taking place on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at 4:00 PM at Lincoln High School. 

This concert promises to be an uplifting and inspiring event, providing a much-needed message of hope, love, light, and unity during a time when many feel the weight of division in our society.

Under the artistic direction of Kathleen Hansen, Hope for the Holidays will feature an eclectic and thoughtful mix of winter and holiday songs from various cultural and religious celebrations.
