Widely regarded as one of the most important and influential figures of 20th-century popular music, Burt Bacharach has enjoyed major hits in all genres of music, including top 40, rhythm and blues, country, film scores and soundtracks. A six-time Grammy Award winner and three-time Oscar winner, Bacharach wrote more than 70 top 40 hits over his seven-decade career.  He treasured his collaborations with fellow artists including Dionne Warwick, Dusty Springfield, Tom Jones, The Carpenters, Aretha Franklin, Luther Vandross and Neil Diamond. Some of his timeless gems include "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head," "I Say A Little Prayer," “(They Long to Be) Close to You,” “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again,” Walk On By” and "That's What Friends Are For." This original musical revue showcases songs written by Burt Bacharach from the 50s through the 80s, performed by a talented cast of 8 singers and musicians.

Backlight Productions provides adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to gain education in the arts and perform significant roles in inclusive productions. In collaboration with Oddity Improv, Backlight Production students have spent the semester studying the fundamentals of Improv in order to grow in confidence, listening & communication skills, and the ability to think on the fly. In this show, Backlight students are sharing the stage with comedians from Oddity Improv in Franklin, performing various short-form exercises in a showcase that is sure to be a night of belly laughs for all!

Ahoy, mateys! Experience the charm of Gilbert & Sullivan's beloved operetta, "The Pirates of Penzance", as Franklin Light Opera returns to the WCPAC stage this September. Follow the adventures of young Frederic, a pirate apprentice torn between duty and love, alongside a colorful cast of rollicking pirates, beautiful maidens, and bumbling police. Filled with recognizable tunes such as "I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major-General", "Poor Wandering One", and "With Cat-Like Tread", the show promises laughter, romance and toe-tapping melodies sure to delight audiences of all ages. The production is directed by Erin Grace Bailey, with live musicians conducted by music director Makai Keur. The large cast features local talent and FLO's very first youth chorus will be making their debut with a preshow of sea shanties. Forever Abbey Road is a collective of successful Nashville musicians who work hard at creating a unique show that demonstrates what the Beatles might sound like if they were around today with current technology and modern rock energy. These musicians play some of the music exactly like the record but at times they expand on the music and create incredible new arrangements with dynamic virtuosic musicianship. The band members have worked with a huge list of legends including Ringo Starr, Peter Frampton, Willie Nelson, Nickelback, Dolly Parton, Zac Brown, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, and more!

Chi-Town Transit Authority is an 8-piece tribute band based out of Atlanta established in 2017 that is dedicated to reproducing the “Chicago” concert experience. Featuring a tight horn section along with the dynamic vocal harmonies that Chicago is famous for, Chi-Town performs all of the familiar and famous songs covering over 4 decades of steady hits written and recorded by Chicago.

Three vocalists and a 9-piece band will take you back in time through the history of Motown’s biggest artists with all of their greatest hits. Since 2013, Nashville-based band World Turning has been entertaining audiences across the country with their tribute to the iconic music of Fleetwood Mac. This show recreates all of Fleetwood Mac’s greatest hits as well as songs from previous band members and the solo efforts of Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham.

The Rising Stars (ages 10-14) summer intensive presents 13, a hilarious, coming-of-age musical about discovering that "cool" is sometimes where we least expect it. Jacob Tolliver presents a tribute to trailblazing rock ’n’ roller Jerry Lee Lewis. A self-taught piano prodigy and close personal friend, Jacob has spent the last few years playing and portraying Jerry Lee Lewis in the hit Broadway musical Million Dollar Quartet. He has performed to sold-out audiences across the county, sharing the stage with luminaries including Ricky Skaggs, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Jackson Browne and The Beach Boys. This tribute show is packed with decades of hits and honors the electrifying, piano-driven sound and style of the late Jerry Lee Lewis and will feature guest appearances by members of Jerry Lee Lewis' band and team, including bass player Ray Gann and guitarist Kenny Lovelace along with Jerry Lee's wife Judith Lewis and road manager Eric Williams.

This year’s fest will feature a range of talent, from local up-and-coming performers to 50-year veterans in the music business.

The STAR program (ages 7-12) summer intensive camp presents Seussical Kids, a fantastical musical extravaganza from Tony-winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. In this 30-minute musical, Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all of the favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage. Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat, our narrator, tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child, who gets in trouble for thinking too many "thinks." Horton's challenge is twofold — not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must also guard an abandoned egg that's been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!  (Rated G by Music Theatre International)

Originally from Mississippi, Nashville-based jazz singer Lisa Stewart will take you back in time to the jazz clubs of New York City in the 1940s. Raised on the blues and gospel music, Lisa brings a little bit of country flair to her performance of well-known jazz standards and songs from The Great American Song Book.

Enjoy the sunshine and fresh air at Sunday Swing in the Courtyard with live music, food trucks and more! Put on your dancing shoes and join us for an afternoon of dancing, accompanied by Middle Tennessee's premier big band, 5 Points Swing, under the direction of Chuck Hamilton. Each ticket includes a complimentary dance lesson at 2:30pm, followed by dancing from 3:00-5:00pm. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase on site. Outdoor seating will not be provided, but guests are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets or a picnic to enjoy music and dancing in the afternoon sun. Restrooms and additional seating will be available inside the Williamson County Performing Arts Center. In the event of inclement weather, this event will be held inside at the Williamson County Performing Arts Center with seating provided for all in attendance.

The teens in our Topsy Turvy Light Opera weekly workshop class, taught by the seasoned professionals with Franklin Light Opera, are learning so much and sound fabulous! Their showcase concert will include a delightful selection of light opera excerpts including comedic works by Gilbert & Sullivan, Strauss, Offenbach and more. Hartzog & Silva, PLLC presents the Star Bright Players (ages 12-18) production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, a lushly scored retelling of Victor Hugo’s epic story of love, acceptance and what it means to be a hero. Based on the Victor Hugo novel and songs from the Disney animated feature, The Hunchback of Notre Dame showcases the film’s Academy Award-nominated score, as well as new songs by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz. Peter Parnell’s book embraces story theatre and features verbatim passages from Hugo’s gothic novel. The musical begins as the bells of Notre Dame sound through the famed cathedral in fifteenth-century Paris. Quasimodo, the deformed bell-ringer who longs to be "Out There," observes all of Paris reveling in the Feast of Fools. Held captive by his devious caretaker, the archdeacon Dom Claude Frollo, he escapes for the day and joins the boisterous crowd, only to be treated cruelly by all but the beautiful Romani woman, Esmeralda. Quasimodo isn’t the only one captivated by her free spirit, though – the handsome Captain Phoebus and Frollo are equally enthralled. Ray of Light Foundation presents 2024 Shine Your Light Youth Vocal Competition Like a lot of kids who go through childhood cancer, Raymond M. Cruz felt a need to give back. He often turned to his love of music, which he credits with helping him through treatment. He wanted to be able to perform and help people that way, and either be someone to look up to or be able to give back by raising money for the patients and families at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. Raymond valiantly fought a battle with Stage 4 Ewing-like Sarcoma from 2017-2019. Throughout his battle, he was given the opportunity to share his message of hope with people through his music, from the hallways of Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital to the stage of the Ryman. Ray and his mother, Blandina, started the Shine Your Light Youth Vocal Competition in 2019 where he stated to the audience that he hoped that the competition would continue for years to come. Ray’s family and friends have continued the competition in Ray’s name and with his spirit guiding him. Please join us for a wonderful cause. Drama People brings the hilarious Pulitzer-award-winning play "You Can't Take it With You” to the Williamson County Performing Arts Center on April 25-26, 2024. You’ll be welcomed right into the living room of the eccentric Sycamore family, whose unconventional lifestyle is turned upside down when their daughter falls in love with the son of a conservative Wall Street banker. Filled with colorful characters, hilarious misunderstandings, and poignant moments of connection, the play explores the themes of family connection, pursuing your passions, and recognizing the unique design created within each one of us.

The Renaissance High School Moonlight Players present a quirky coffee shop experience in their original one act play Killer Brew! This fun show depicts the struggles of teenagers with school assignments, the excitement of a Dungeons and Dragons campaign, and the complexities of an author trying to conjure a great plot! The beloved tale of Cinderella has been told around the world, with its roots reaching as far back as ancient Egypt and Greece. In fact, many cultures have created their own versions of this beautiful story of redemption. Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella features such memorable songs as "In My Own Little Corner," "Stepsisters' Lament," and "Ten Minutes Ago."  With direction by Melissa Austin, Cinderella is performed by a cast of 7th–12th grade theatre students. Note that evening performances are set for 6:30 pm. Roy grew up in Nashville, Music City USA, in a household where he was always surrounded with music and was taught to appreciate all genres. His pieces are bold in color, scale and subject matter, inspired by the musical influences of his childhood: vintage guitars, rock ’n’ roll icons and outlaw country legends. As an artist, Roy takes the experiences and emotions that have shaped his life and translates them into art that makes you stop, look and just feel the power of the paint.

The STAR program (ages 7-12) classes in College Grove, Franklin, and Nolensville present Disney’s Finding Nemo Kids, a 30-minute musical adaptation of the beloved 2003 Pixar movie Finding Nemo, with new music by award-winning songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. Marlin, an anxious and over-protective clownfish, lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid Nemo, who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home. But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean. With the help of lovable characters such as optimistic Dory, laid-back sea turtle Crush, and the supportive Tank Gang, Marlin and Nemo both overcome challenges on their journey to find each other and themselves. Featuring memorable songs such as “Just Keep Swimming,” “Fish Are Friends Not Food,” and “Go With the Flow,” Finding Nemo KIDS brings a vibrant underwater world to life on stage in a story full of family, friendship, and adventure.

The Sternwheelers are an Irish-Americana band based in Nashville, TN. Drawing from the canon of both Irish and American traditions they present a unique crossover “transatlantic” folk. This show consists of original music, traditional Irish tune sets, ballads, pub songs and some unique interpretations of music from other genres. In keeping with the folk tradition their arrangements are all individually their own. The Sternwheelers offer something new, fresh and fun steeped in history and tradition.

It is Vienna in 1874. Things have been set in motion before the curtain rises on Die Fledermaus, that most effervescent of operettas. The recipient of a practical joke while in a drunken haze after a party, it has taken young Dr. Falke three years to figure out how to get back at his friend Eisenstein for the prank. The perfect forum is provided by the outlandish Russian Prince Orlofsky, who rolls into town and invites Falke to a sumptuous party. Guests arrive under an assortment of false pretenses. Even Adele, the Eisenstein’s maid, feigns an excuse to be released from work that night so she can go to the ball, and disguises herself as a Russian actress. The party culminates in the unwitting Eisenstein flirting shamelessly with his own wife, who is in disguise as a Hungarian countess. Amidst much waltzing and champagne consumption, Eisenstein gets a taste of his own medicine, delivered in large doses by Dr. Falke.

In honor of Women’s History Month, the Williamson County Performing Arts Center presents The Lady and the Empress, a one-woman theatrical performance based on the life and music of 1920s blues legend, Bessie Smith, the Empress of the Blues. Written and performed by Doris Fields (Lady D) and backed by a 4-piece band, the show follows the life of Bessie Smith from her beginnings in Chattanooga and the tent shows of the South to the glamorous stages of Harlem. This 90-minute presentation is both entertaining and educational and features many of Smith’s most popular songs, including “T’ain’t Nobody’s Business If I Do,” “Nobody Knows You When You’re Down and Out” and more.

WCPR Children’s Theatre’s Rising Stars (grades 2nd – 8th grade) present Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka JR. Featuring the enchanting songs from the 1971 film, in addition to a host of fun new songs, Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka JR. is a scrumdidilyumptious musical guaranteed to delight everyone's sweet tooth. The musical follows enigmatic candy manufacturer Willy Wonka as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whomever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats, but the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket, who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka's rules in the factory — or suffer the consequences.

The story takes place about the Royal Navy ship, the HMS Pinafore, and revolves around the captain's daughter falling in love with a lower-class sailor. We have recruited a super-talented and passionate cast...hailing from both right here in Tennessee and also from as far away as California and Florida. We are boldly bringing to you this message of hope, of redemption, of grit, and most of all the true meaning of Christmas... inspiring us to live to be an instrument in God's hands to help and lift those around us. The Star Bright Players Fall 2023 production is A Christmas Carol the Musical, the spectacular adaptation of Charles Dickens’ most well-known story by Broadway heavy hitters Alan Menken and Lynn Ahrens.  We are thrilled to be offering this holiday classic to our community! Ebenezer Scrooge is a prosperous curmudgeon who believes that personal wealth is far more valuable than the happiness and comfort of others. With an infuriated "Bah! Humbug!" Scrooge summates his feelings of Christmas tidings and charitable giving, but he's forced to face his selfish ways when three ghosts on Christmas Eve lead him through his Past, Present and Future. Thanks to their guidance, Scrooge recognizes his faults and greets Christmas morning with a cheerful "Happy Christmas" before spending the day reconnecting and sharing love with those that mean the most to him

Based on the actual diary of a young Jewish girl who spent two years hiding from the Nazis, The Diary of Anne Frank is a Tony & Pulitzer Prize winning play of the highest critical acclaim. Written by Goodrich & Hackett, it has won virtually every award there is, and has deeply moved audiences for over 60 years. Seasoned director Melanie Sutton returns to Academy Park to bring this inspiring and important story to the stage. She has directed 17 shows for Franklin Christian Academy, including several here on our stage such as Steel Magnolias and 12 Angry Jurors. FCA is gaining a reputation around Williamson County for producing the highest quality student theatre. This production features several stars of last season’s hit “It’s a Wonderful Life: the Live Radio Play” right here on this stage. “The Diary of Anne Frank” promises to be another unforgettable night at the theatre.

Franklin Christian Academy proudly presents Radium Girls!  In 1926, radium was a miracle cure, Madame Curie an international celebrity, and luminous watches the latest rage—until the girls who painted them began to fall ill with a mysterious disease. Inspired by a true story, Radium Girlstraces the efforts of Grace Fryer, a dial painter, as she fights for her day in court. Her chief adversary is her former employer, Arthur Roeder, an idealistic man who cannot bring himself to believe that the same element that shrinks tumors could have anything to do with the terrifying rash of illnesses among his employees. As the case goes on, however, Grace finds herself battling not just with the U.S. Radium Corporation, but with her own family and friends, who fear that her campaign for justice will backfire. CYT Nashville is excited to present Guys and Dolls! Set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City, Guys and Dolls is an oddball romantic comedy. Gambler, Nathan Detroit, tries to find the cash to set up the biggest craps game in town while the authorities breathe down his neck; meanwhile, his girlfriend and nightclub performer, Adelaide, laments that they've been engaged for fourteen years. Nathan turns to fellow gambler, Sky Masterson, for the dough, and Sky ends up chasing the straight-laced missionary, Sarah Brown, as a result. Guys and Dolls takes us from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, and even into the sewers of New York City, but eventually everyone ends up right where they belong. You don’t want to miss this classic show!

The Williamson County Performing Arts Center is excited to present the ultimate Rolling Stones tribute show: The Music City Stones! Founded in 2005, the Music City Stones have performed at great venues all over the country and most recently opened for the iconic Cheap Trick last summer. This fall, Music City Stones will bring a unique, new show to the WCPAC, performing the music of the Rolling Stones with a string section! This event will feature a special set list by the La Vie String Quartet and all The Rolling Stones hits you love, including “Angie,” “Ruby Tuesday,” “Satisfaction,” and plenty more.

To show our love, concern and support for everyone in Maui, we will have a donation box at our Concert. 100% of these contributions will go directly to Maui Food Bank, a local agency there. Our hearts are breaking for Maui. We want to convey the message that though we are about 5,000 miles away, we all, in Music City, are standing with them and send our Aloha! We are also having a Silent Auction with some gorgeous ukuleles up for bid. Partial proceeds will benefit the Tennessee Ukulele Collective, which donates ukuleles to schools in the Nashville area. Stairway To Zeppelin (STZ) is a to-the-note Led Zeppelin tribute playing all the hits as you hear in the original recordings with added live arrangements and visual effects. STZ boasts an impressive lineup of Nashville-based musicians who have performed with world-class artists such as Heart, REO Speedwagon, Wilco, the Black Crowes, Garth Brooks, Jewel, Kenny Chesney, Rascal Flatts and more. “Absolutely the best Zeppelin since Led Zeppelin”—Zep fan.

Straight to the Stars Youth Theatre, WCPR’s children’s theatre program producing non-musical plays starring high school students, is thrilled to present Ghostlight by Stephen Gregg for their summer 2023 production. This highly reviewed play is funny, emotional, and unique. When indifferent student Garbiela Nettles is inexplicably admitted to the prestigious Doves Forge Academy, all she wants to do is leave. But before she can get herself expelled, Garbiela starts to hear sounds that no one else hears: ghost echoes from the remnants of a long-ago tragedy in the school’s theatre. As she investigates the sounds (by joining the disastrous play in progress), Garbiela uncovers a story that’s both surprising and surprisingly moving. Theatrically staged using the production’s audience and live sound effects, Ghostlight has hilarious characters, unexpected twists, and a riotous finale.

A small group of people help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and hefty doses of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, is employed as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus' messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life.

The Rising Stars summer production for 2023 will be one of the most beloved musicals of all time, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music: Youth Edition. Featuring a trove of cherished songs, including "Climb Ev'ry Mountain," "My Favorite Things," "Do-Re-Mi," "Sixteen Going on Seventeen" and the title number, The Sound of Music won the hearts of audiences worldwide, earning five Tony Awards and five Oscars. The inspirational story, based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, follows Maria, an ebullient postulant who serves as governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the household. But as the forces of Nazism take hold of Austria, the von Trapp family must make a moral decision. In this adaptation for pre-high school students, the content has been edited to better suit younger attention spans, but all the elements that make this show a classic are still in place.

Rock with the award-winning Williamson County Parks & Recreation Star Bright Players in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock the Musical, presented by Image Surgical Arts. The tuner follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn an extra bit of cash by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There he turns a class of straight–A pupils into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. But can he get them to the Battle of the Bands without their parents and the school’s headmistress finding out? (Based on movie rated PG-13.)

CYT Nashville is excited to present Matilda!  Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit and intelligence. She's unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher Miss Honey. During her first term at school, the two forge a bond as Miss Honey begins to recognize and appreciate Matilda's extraordinary personality. Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing, however – the school's mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves to punish those who don't abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils' saving grace!  You won’t want to miss this high energy, inspiring show!

Apart from striving for acceptance from his ape father, Tarzan's life is mostly monkey business until a human expedition treks into his tribe's territory, and he encounters creatures like himself for the first time. Tarzan struggles to navigate a jungle, thick with emotion, as he discovers his animal upbringing clashing with his human instincts. You won’t want to miss this fun, heartwarming show!

All About Joel: A Billy Joel Tribute is a musical tribute presented with a tremendous amount of detail by Long Island veteran singer/piano player David Clark. The show continues to gain popularity across the country with stunningly accurate piano playing, lead vocals, and an eerily similar stage look to the Piano Man himself while engaging the audience with wit and humor. Raymond Marcial Cruz valiantly fought a battle with Stage 4 Ewing-like Sarcoma from 2017-2019. Throughout his battle, he was given the opportunity to share his message of hope with people through his music, from the hallways of Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital to the stage of the Ryman. Ray and his mother, Blandina, started the Shine Your Light Youth Vocal Competition in 2019 to raise funds for the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital where Ray received his treatments.

Our 2023 annual spring showcase brings 14 pieces of original choreography featuring local company dancers ages 18 and up. We are thrilled to share this movement and art with you! This year, we found quite a bit of musical theater influence in several of our pieces. However, we have a range of genres, themes, and styles represented throughout. TWO nights only! The Nashville Shakespeare Festival presents Shakespeare Education Experience directed by Nashville Shakespeare Festival's Artistic Executive Director Denice Hicks. Join us on Thursday April 27th for a presentation of MACBETH (1 hour) & A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM (30 minutes), and Friday, April 28th for ROMEO & JULIET (60 MINUTES) & A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM (30 MINUTES). Five actors play multiple roles with minimal set and props, demonstrating the clarity and power of Shakespeare's poetry from three of his most popular works. These three plays are touring the Mid-South region to remind us of the relevance of the stories, the importance of imagination and the joy of live theater. The Academy Singers performance group is Brentwood Academy's premiere mixed vocal ensemble. This auditioned group features 17 of the most talented students, who perfrom for various school, church, and community events throughout the year. As Academy Singers, students expand their knowledge of music theory, sight-reading, ear training and the many facets of the use of the vocal instrument including proper tone, breath control, posture, blending and diction.

Celtic Rhythms on Fire is a celebration of the rich and vibrant artistry of Irish dance and music. This show features not only the more traditional elements-such as jig, reel and hornpipe, but also explores more progressive styles of Irish dance and music. The collaboration between dancers, musicians and singers results in a spirited lively interchange and, of course, audience of all ages will be delightfully engaged!

Letters From Home infuses the classic style of the USO with a witty, modern edge featuring high-energy singing and tap-dancing performances by Erinn Dearth and Dan Beckmann. Singin' in the Rain is hailed as the "greatest movie musical of all time", and the Franklin Classical School Players are pleased to present the stage adaptation of this beloved classic! Directed by Melissa Austin, with choreography by Mattie Tichenor and Miranda Mathies, Singin' in the Rain is thrilling and entertaining for every age! 

On-screen couple Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont are Hollywood's biggest stars of silent film. But with the premiere of The Jazz Singer as the first "talking picture",  studios are forced to follow suit or get left behind. The problem for Monumental Pictures is, Lina's squeaky voice is something like nails on a chalkboard! Enter talented young actress, Kathy Seldon, who sacrifices her own career to become Lina Lamont's onscreen voice. Audiences are not fooled for long, though, and we are reminded that, although things are not always as they seem, truth wins in the end!
