In 1975, legendary Queen set a new standard for creativity and musical innovation with their fourth studio album A Night At The Opera. At the time, it was the most expensive album ever produced, and the record stands today as the band's magnum opus. In 2025, we celebrate 50 years with one of the biggest and most ambitious masterpieces in the history of rock, when Europe's best tribute to Queen invites you all to Queen Machine 's Our Night At The Opera in the very Opera on Holmen in Copenhagen.

For more than a decade , Queen Machine has thrilled audiences at home and abroad with their formidable and uncompromising Queen show, hitting the audience in both heart and soul with Queen's immortal and majestic hits. Sigurd fortæller H.C. Andersen is a theater concert with storytelling, music, songs, plays and ballet dancers for the whole family. Sigurd Barrett, who has received a number of awards for his work with communication, tells a string of pearls of Andersen's famous fairy tales, which are visualized by musicians, plays and dancers. The common thread in the dramaturgy is how Andersen's fairy tales can be understood and used by modern children and young people in our own time. With him Sigurd has the guitarist and trumpeter Eskild Dohn as well as the actor Sandra Bothmann and ballet children from Det Kgl. Theater Ballet School Odense. The performance is based on Sigurd Barrett's book "Sigurd tells HC Andersen's fairy tales" with accompanying songs.

JAMES BOND GALLA is a terrific concert led by Scandinavia's greatest jazz singer, Sinne Eeg. The Danish diva presents a pearl string of the well-known theme songs from the Agent 007 films, accompanied by star singer Patrick Dorgan. The music is performed by a well-dressed orchestra, including with the participation of the American pianist Josh Nelson, who has worked with world stars such as Natalie Cole, Ivan Lins and Kurt Elling.

In 2024, The Savage Rose proved once again why their star shines so brightly in the Danish music sky. The band shut down the Danish venues with a sold-out 50th anniversary tour for the iconic Wild Child album. All over the country they were received by completely sold-out houses and ended with two magnificent concerts in the Opera.

In 2025, the band continues with Annisette at the front, with another tour around the country. The Savage Rose's music is known for being both raw, poetic and deeply personal. The band has released 25 albums and achieved great recognition both nationally and internationally. They show time and time again their ability to create music that reflects the spirit of the times and at the same time challenges the conventions of the genre.

After great success with concerts in no less than eight European capitals, Tina Dickow and Helgi Jonsson return to Danish soil and invite you inside for three duo concerts.

When the two stood alone on Det Kongelige Teater's Gamle Stage in March, Gaffa signed off with five stars and the comment; "Jonsson and Dickow's subtly thought-provoking and self-deprecatingly humorous stories about their difficult love created the counterbalance to the melancholic and profound songs"

This time, Aarhus and Aalborg will also be visited by the duo. Dickow and Jonsson two have worked as closely together as possible since they became colleagues in 2008 and since then also became a couple and have created a life together in Iceland.

From a home studio on the outskirts of Reykjavik, they have together written and recorded five of Dickow's albums and two of Jonsson's, and also some of Dickow's biggest hits such as 'Someone You Love', 'You Wanna Teach Me To Dance', 'Fancy' and 'Welcome Back Colour' they wrote together.

The two have played hundreds of concerts at home and abroad in every imaginable constellation, and as musicians in each other's bands, and now they play individual duo concerts under a common name.

Concerts where they invite the audience inside for an intimate and personal insight into what it is that they do and can do together, at the same time that, through the songs you know, they will tell the story of how they met and how a terrible start turned into a happy ending. "The concert is more theatrical than usual because we really want to tell a story here.

At first glance, Sibylle and Daniel, portrayed by Birgitte Hjort Sørensen and Mikkel Arndt, seem to lead an idyllic yet somewhat mundane family life, complete with respectable careers, a stylish apartment and two young children. One night, Daniel's ex-girlfriend Franziska, played by Julie Agnete Vang Christensen, suddenly appears. She becomes the catalyst for an explosion in what turns out to be an already strained relationship between Daniel and Sibylle, whose children have long been hostages in their trench warfare. Daniel chose Sibylle over Franziska, because she was the stable and sensible choice, but perhaps he chose wrongly?

Jeppe is a man utterly devoid of control over his own life; he's a tenant farmer, beaten and cheated on by his wife, Nille. Additionally, Jeppe bears the scars of a decade in military service. His only escape is to drown his sorrows in alcohol at Jacob Shoemaker’s inn. When the baron and his servants find the drunken Jeppe on the dungheap and, as a practical joke, elevate him to king-for-a-day, he, as the 'baron,' assumes power and becomes surprisingly tyrannical before being drunkenly thrown back onto the dungheap. His punishment is an even more malicious jest, as Jeppe is mockingly sentenced to death and hanged, only to return home for one final humiliation.

The Royal Playhouse and The Old Stage

Michael Falch is hopelessly in love with the Royal Theatre's Old Stage. He will return on Sunday, January 19, 2025.

Many years ago, Michael Falch took the expression "rust never sleeps" to heart. Throughout his career, he has used it as a mantra to never just repeat himself when he goes on tour. In recent times alone, he has toured with his young rock band DÉT BAND, with his daughter Mathilde, the so-called bittersweet trio, with MALURT, acoustic solo and with Poul Krebs.

In 2025, he goes out to the country's best cultural centers and theaters in a new trio set up. He will be seconded by the Norwegian cellist, Live Johansson from LiveStrings, who has previously cast a Scandinavian shine over his songs both on stage and on album - and the keyboard player Mikkel Reumert Damgaard, who has been a member of Falchen's backing band for a number of years, and who daily is part Love Shop.

Michael Falch is currently writing new songs, and a new album is expected to be released in October 2024, when he has finished his tour with Poul Krebs.

Dance and words go hand in hand when choreography meets acting in Anja Behrens’ staging of Ibsen’s wildly imaginative classic. Peer Gynt wanders the world, driven by a relentless thirst for acknowledgment and the urge to escape his childhood. Subjected to his mother's deprivation and sorrow over the traumatic dissolution of his family and home, he has spent his life evading truth and reality, escaping into delusions, fantasies and grandiose lies. This serves as both his salvation and his curse. When he finally returns home, he is confronted with his profound fear of death.

Sissel Kyrkjebø is referred to as all of Scandinavia's Christmas queen and not without reason! For several decades she has toured to full houses in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Iceland. She herself sees the Christmas tour as one of the biggest highlights of the year. And although "Sissel's Christmas" has existed since 2013, she renews the concert from year to year:

"Since it is a Christmas and winter concert, it is natural to include some of the cultural treasures that we associate with Christmas and the cold season. At the same time, I want the concert to contain songs from our own time and even something completely new," says Sissel Kyrkjebø, and elaborates: "I want to create a new experience for the audience every year. My goal is that those who come to the concert get in the Christmas spirit, experience that the smile bands have been in action, and get some food for thought when they subsequently go out into the winter darkness.”

This year the premiere is in Skellefteå in northern Sweden on November 20, after which Sissel Kyrkjebø and her fantastic orchestra will travel through large parts of Sweden, Norway, and then finish the tour in Denmark until Christmas.

In 2023, Joni Mitchell turned 80, and it was celebrated, among other things, with a magnificent and totally sold-out tribute concert on the Royal Theatre's iconic Gamle Scene. It was a memorable evening, and at numerous requests the concert will return in autumn 2024.

In scrupulous respect for the original material, a number of the country's best singers and musicians breathe new life into Joni Mitchell's enormous and awe-inspiring back catalogue, which is delivered with nerve, presence, authenticity and joy of playing.

Today's concert is the last of three concerts where the Arild Quartet plays all the string quartets by the German romantic master Johannes Brahms. A quartet by Haydn and Mozart is also played at each concert.

The beautiful historic hall of mirrors in the balcony foyer at the Royal Theatre's Gamle Stage forms the setting for the concert. Before each concert, Toke Lund Christiansen talks about the lives of the three master composers, their brilliant music and their mutual relationship.

The Old Stage

With their unique combination of pedal organ, violins, distorted guitars, thunderous drums and thunderous roars, the sextet has in recent years revived rock music and on stage evolved from an uncompromising, noisy rock band in the Esbjerg underground to an international concert phenomenon that moves its audience with beautiful, intense, painful and violent live performances of dramaturgical dimensions. It is not without reason that the band is called Denmark's best live band.

It is with that energy that Kellermensch enters the Royal Theatre's Gamle Stage.

Benjamin Koppel's debut novel Annas sang is a book full of music, so what could be more appropriate than involving an entire symphony orchestra for a fantastic book concert, together with the Benjamin Koppel Quartet, the singer Frederikke Vedel and none other than Susse Wold, who reads excerpts from the book.

The family chronicle Anna's song, which is based on the almost 100-year life of Koppel's great-aunt Anna, has taken both readers and reviewers by storm. At the same time as the book, nine songs inspired by Anna's life were also published. Anders Koppel was behind the string arrangements on the album, and he has also arranged the music for a full symphony orchestra for this concert.
