Hudson Theatre, located just off Times Square in New York City, opened on October 19, 1903, with Ethel Barrymore starring in "Cousin Kate." Built by Broadway producer Henry B. Harris, it is one of New York's oldest Broadway venues, renowned for its 100-foot long lobby, the largest of its time. The theatre has hosted stars like Douglas Fairbanks, Helen Hayes, and Edward G. Robinson, with debuts from Barbara Stanwyck and Judith Anderson. It gained landmark status in 1987 and was the site of the first nationwide broadcast of "The Tonight Show" in 1956. The Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG), founded in 1992 in the UK, operates Hudson Theatre. As the world's largest live-theatre company, ATG manages 58 venues across the UK, US, and Germany, including two Broadway theatres. It has restored historic venues and runs major ticketing platforms like ATGtickets.com. ATG produces diverse entertainment, from Broadway hits to music and comedy, and has credits in acclaimed productions such as "Plaza Suite" and "David Byrne's American Utopia."
