Those who loved Capathia’s performance in Aretha: A Tribute in 2019 and The Ladies of the Great American Songbook in 2022 will rejoice to hear that the evening’s list of covers will include songs by Whitney Houston, Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan, Adele, and many others.

The Wheeling Symphony Orchestra is set to conclude its 95th season with a grand celebration, featuring a series of remarkable performances that highlight the orchestra's rich history and community impact. The evening will commence with a newly commissioned work by Dr. Matthew Harder, a Professor of Music at West Liberty University, inspired by the orchestra's legacy. This piece will also mark the debut of the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra Community Choir. Following this, another world premiere by Jonathan Kolm will be presented, showcasing the talents of WSO Principal Cellist Elisa Kohanski. Kolm's composition is a tribute to Kohanski's global musical journey and dedication.

After the intermission, the WSO will welcome back its Conductor Laureate, André Raphel, who will lead the orchestra in a performance of Ravel's dynamic "La Valse." The celebration will culminate with Ravel's "Daphnis and Chloe, Suite No. 2," a three-movement work that will once again feature the Wheeling Symphony Community Choir. This piece not only honors the orchestra's 95th anniversary but also commemorates the 150th anniversary of Ravel's birth, providing a fitting and festive conclusion to the season.
