In one of the most evocative pieces of pastoral music, you will hear everything from singing birds, murmuring streams and soft breezes, to barking dogs, drunken country dancers, and an intense thunderstorm. The renowned Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, with acclaimed violinist Vadim Gluzman, returns to Blossom with one of music’s most loved works.

Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets in Concert

Hauntingly beautiful, heartrendingly emotional, and unabashedly romantic. Rachmaninoff wrote of his Second Piano Concerto, “What I try to do when writing down my music is to make it say simply and directly what is in my heart.”  Its soaring melodies have made it a perpetual hit since it was first composed. An artist The London Times calls “without question the most astounding pianist of our age," Cleveland favorite Daniil Trifonov returns to perform this not-to-be-missed program.

Relive the first installment of Peter Jackson’s fantasy adventure trilogy, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, in concert with the music performed live by The Cleveland Orchestra.
The music of The Lord of the Rings is counted among film music’s most complex and comprehensive works. This unique performance sets the score to the film, but allows the music to bear the narrative weight, creating a wholly new and dramatic live concert experience.

Vivid, dazzling pictures of Rome painted by a master symphonist. Respighi’s symphonic poems evoke the sights and sounds of the Eternal City, from its centuries-old trees that dominate the landscape, to its extraordinary fountains. The concert opens with a masterpiece by Mary Lou Williams highlighting each of the twelve astrological signs, performed by Ohio native and star jazz/classical pianist Aaron Diehl.

An evening of music by the legendary Paul Simon. One of the most successful and respected singer/songwriters of the rock era, Simon is known for his extraordinary output, pairing smart, reflective lyrics with sophisticated pop music. This concert of music by the multi-Grammy-winning legend explores his artistry as a songwriter from his years with Simon and Garfunkel through his solo albums like Graceland. Songs include “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard,”  “The Sound of Silence,”  “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover,” “Graceland,” and many more.

One of the most magical scores in all symphonic music, Rimsky-Korsakov’s wondrous Scheherazade brings Arabian Nights to dazzling life. Franz Liszt (introduced to a generation by Bugs Bunny cartoons) composed his first piano concerto for his own wildly popular appearances; to delight the public and display his own jaw-dropping skills.

A Salute to America

Enjoy a romantic evening with Brahms’s gorgeous Third Symphony</strong>. Filled with passion and longing, it has directly inspired artists today — the third movement was “borrowed” for the 1951 pop song “Take My Love,” recorded and co-written by Frank Sinatra, and is a favorite of Carlos Santana, who used it as inspiration for “Love of My Life.”
