The work Carrier is a sensual and boundary-pushing concert experience created by the experimental rock band SVIN and the Aarhus Sinfonietta. The audience is invited on a symbolic journey from the surface, down into the dark depths of the mind and back towards the light. With an evocative visual staging by Maya SB, the music becomes a living space where the many forms of love emerge: the claustrophobic and the grandiose, the vulnerable and the transformative.

Temporariness is a concept that concerns the Sinfonietta, the Institute for (X) and many others in Aarhus' rapidly accelerating cultural environment. It manifests itself in the lack of creative square meters, temporary projects, platforms and buildings. And it also speaks to the struggle of living composers to create an afterlife and a precedent for re-performance of their works.

This urban diversity is what the 845Q concert tour takes as its starting point. 845Q is, in addition to the concert's title, the name of a brand new collaboration between Aarhus Sinfonietta and Palmehaven, which will build a bridge between modern contemporary music and the users of the urban space. The songs' well-known grains of sand can form new universes. The words coincided with five hearts in Politiken, when pianist and composer Jacob Anderskov first published a series of selected high school songs with new jazz avant-garde colours. He has now given the songs additional play of color with new arrangements for both improvisational and classical musicians, and the newly written work entitled I sang will premiere at the Aarhus Jazz Festival 2024.

St. Paul's Church

Aarhus Sinfonietta contributed to the vernissage at Museum Jorn in Silkeborg, which inaugurated the opening of the museum's exhibition with the internationally recognized and notorious Austrian painter and action artist Hermann Nitsch. The exhibition runs from 14 June to 22 September. It is designed retrospectively and contains more than 150 significant paintings, immersive installations, videos, photographs, as well as musical and graphic works from the 1960s unti 2022.

The plan is for "fresh interpretations" of contemporary works by major composers, when musicians from the Århus Sinfonietta in collaboration with the research project The Art of Interpretation at the Jutland Conservatory of Music present both thoughts, works and interpretations for a concert in the Chamber Music Hall in Musikhuset Aarhus.

Aarhus-pianisten Erik Kaltoft har mange musikalske venner. Han er en nøgleskikkelse i dansk musik – still going så strong, at han er kendt i hele Danmark, både inden for sang og opera og for ny kompositionsmusik. Han har uropført i nærheden af 250 værker af danske komponister, mange af dem er skrevet til og tilegnet ham, ligesom han kan høres på henved 50 CD-indspilninger.

The cast is chamber orchestra size, and will consist of the composite ensemble Århus Sinfonietta+, which was created as part of the ensemble's multi-year collaboration with the Jutland Conservatory of Music. Århus Sinfonietta+ is an expression of Århus Sinfonietta's desire to form musical communities that can both accommodate ground-breaking New Music of the highest quality and ensure the musical food chain in our local environment.

På SPOT Festival 2023 videreudvikler Århus Sinfonietta konceptet “Experimentarium”, som blev kickstartet i samarbejde med Aarhus Jazz Orchestra og Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium under Curiosity Festival i 2022. Samarbejdet bygger på et fælles ønske fra de to ensemblers side om at give unge komponister, sangskrivere og musikere mulighed for at arbejde med de professionelle musikere fra de to orkestre, og dermed skabe både genre- og generationsmøder i musikken i en workshopbaseret, kunstnerisk proces.
