The orchestra will perform classics from Dr. Zhivago and John Williams’ unforgettable score to E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, as well as familiar sounds from Disney, Harry Potter, and Pirates of the Caribbean. This collage of iconic movie scores is bound to satisfy movie lovers of every kind. Pianist Jeffrey LaDeur joins the North State Symphony to celebrate the 100th anniversary of George Gershwin’s iconic Rhapsody in Blue.

The SoCal Chamber Music Workshop (SCCMW) is a 1-week workshop for adult amateur and professional chamber musicians, age 18 and above.  Our participants include strings, piano, and winds.  We gather for a week in July at Scripps College in Claremont, California.  Musicians spend their days working on chamber music repertoire while receiving coaching to improve the quality of their musicianship in an ensemble.   Our environment is welcoming, positive, and social while encouraging each musician to push beyond their limitations.

Season 7 will celebrate music and influence of Gabriel Fauré and his contemporaries, running the gamut of familiar masterpieces to rare gems and first performances. The artistic lineup will see the return of beloved Bay Area luminaries, as well as festival and San Francisco debuts.

The festival will once again collaborate with Old First Concerts in presenting our Solo Recital Series, and the McKee Masterclasses will return, connecting veteran artists with the extraordinary up and coming pianists of the Bay Area. Artistic partners include include Young Chamber Musicians, Lieder Alive!, and the American Liszt Society.
