Experience the enchanting melodies and timeless story of "The Sound of Music: In Concert" at the picturesque Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont. This unique event, taking place on June 20, 21, and 22, 2024, marks the first live concert performance of "The Sound of Music" at the von Trapp family’s historic home. Celebrate significant milestones including the 75th anniversary of "The Story of the Trapp Family Singers" book, the 65th anniversary of the musical's Broadway debut, Lyric Theatre Company's 50th anniversary, and the Vermont Symphony Orchestra’s 90th anniversary.

Under the baton of Andrew Crust, Music Director for the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, with Vocal Direction by Stefanie Weigand, and hosted by Kerstin Anderson, a Vermont native and star of the 2015 "The Sound of Music" national tour, this concert promises an unforgettable experience. The performance will feature a full orchestra, chorus, and soloists, bringing the iconic music of Rodgers and Hammerstein to life in an unparalleled setting.

In case of inclement weather, the concert will be moved to the Flynn in Burlington, ensuring that the show will go on. The June 22 performance will also include ASL interpretation, making this magical event accessible to all.

Andrew Crust has developed a versatile international career as a conductor of orchestral, opera, ballet and pops programs. Currently serving as the Associate Conductor of the Vancouver Symphony in Canada, Andrew conducts a large number of subscription, pops, educational, and contemporary concerts with the VSO each season. In his second season as Music Director of the Lima Symphony, Andrew programs and conducts the Grand Classics, Pops, and Educational series and has led collaborations with soloists such as Amit Peled, Awadagin Pratt and Laquita Mitchell.
