Violetta leads a life of excess: men, money, and alcohol without end, and one party after another. But the young high-class prostitute is terminally ill. At the height of her youth, she, who refuses to believe in love, is overwhelmed by it. Happiness is short-lived, reconciliation comes too late: Violetta ultimately dies impoverished and alone, a martyr of a society that has no place for outsiders.

In the second symphony concert, we welcome another outstanding concert soloist: the Swedish soprano Maria Bengtsson, who has performed at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, the Opéra Bastille in Paris, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, and the Berlin State Opera, among others, under the baton of Kirill Petrenko, Daniel Barenboim, Simone Young, Philippe Jordan, Vladimir Jurovsky, Riccardo Muti, Sebastian Weigle, and many others. Bengtsson will perform Alban Berg's "Seven Early Songs" with the Symphony Orchestra: the song cycle, which combines texts by forgotten poets such as Paul Hohenberg and Carl Hauptmann with Rilke, Lenau, and Storm, tells the story of a great love.

And so, love affairs, intrigues, jealousy, and the like soon erupt between all parties.
