La traviata

Violetta leads a life of excess: men, money, and alcohol without end, and one party after another. But the young high-class prostitute is terminally ill. At the height of her youth, she, who refuses to believe in love, is overwhelmed by it. Happiness is short-lived, reconciliation comes too late: Violetta ultimately dies impoverished and alone, a martyr of a society that has no place for outsiders.
