Anton Bruckner described his 6th Symphony as his boldest . It was written after a long creative break and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra enjoyed it so much during a rehearsal that they applauded loudly and made a fanfare . Bruckner was unable to experience the premiere of his symphony, and especially not the success of this flowing, light-hearted and at the same time very personal work.
