Oboist Juri Vallentin shows off his skills in two concertos: Tommaso Albinoni's op. 9, No. 11 and Ralph Vaughan Williams' Oboe Concerto from 1943. In Albinoni's work, two elegant outer movements frame the noble, simple lyricism of the middle Adagio; Vaughan Williams' romantic concerto expresses a longing for a more peaceful, better world.
