Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla conducts Vaughn Williams’s Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis, a shimmering exploration of the English Renaissance, and Weinberg’s Fifth Symphony, a powerful exploration of dramatic contrasts inspired by the work of Shostakovich, his friend and kindred spirit.
