Louis de Geer konsert & kongress

Welcome to an exuberant family concert where hundreds of children sing together on De Geerhallen's large stage. There will be singing, music and dancing together with musicians from the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra and teachers from the Kulturskolan. The Tvåornas Kör is an activity at the Kulturskolan that is aimed at all students in grade 2 in the municipality of Norrköping. Through choral singing, the students get to experience and work with the joy of singing, community, movement and learning. The concert is an opportunity to meet and feel joy and pride together in our fine concert hall.

The Norrköping Symphony Orchestra invites you to a Coffee Concert! The menu includes orchestral music, solo performances and gofika. The Coffee Concert is a wonderful musical experience for our functionally varying audience, and is especially aimed at group homes, day centers, special schools and training schools in the region.

Coffee concert

Béla Bartók left his homeland of Hungary and emigrated to the United States in 1940. The war and the political situation in his homeland meant that he could not bring himself to stay in Europe. Nevertheless, he never felt at home in New York, where he settled. In the Third Piano Concerto, one can perhaps also trace a strong homesickness. Bartók's music is in many ways rooted in traditional Hungarian music, even though it has its own very personal musical language. This is also evident in the Third Piano Concerto, which, despite being written when the composer was ill with leukemia, has a bright and dance-like character. The concerto was the last work Bartók wrote, and he never got to experience the premiere in 1946.

Jealousy and hatred lead to a cruel and sudden death in the tragic opera Pajazzo  by Ruggiero Leoncavallo. The story is about a traveling theater company. Its leader Canio is constantly jealous of his wife Nedda. Many will surely recognize Canio's great aria Vesti la gioubba (Laugh Pajazzo). When it is time to perform the company's performance, Canio breaks down, this time in the guise of Pajazzo. In blind rage, he gives Nedda the option of giving him the name of her lover or death. Nedda refuses, and Canio stabs her and her lover who tries to save her. He is immediately arrested and shouts the famous words to the audience: La commedia è finita! (The comedy is over).
