Who doesn't know him, the impoverished country gentleman tilting at windmills? Don Quixote, who suffers so much from reality that he escapes into the world of his beloved chivalric romances and loses himself in this dream world. Equipped with his imagination as armor, his chivalric ideals as weapons, and his faithful squire Sancho Panza at his side, Don Quixote embarks on unknown adventures. He fights against imaginary enemies and illusions, but at his core, always for his true ideals. He is constantly searching for his equally imagined great love, Dulcinea, an ideal he projects onto all women. He actually helps the young Kitri escape a forced marriage and marry her true love. He survives all his adventures unscathed—until, at the end of his journey, he encounters his own reflection and recognizes his self-deception.

A family of field mice lives in an old stone wall in the middle of a beautiful meadow. With winter approaching, the little mice are busily gathering various delicacies for their pantry. They work day and night – all of them except Frederick. Instead of scampering nimbly from one nut to the next like the others, he seems to just sit around. Frederick collects astonishing things, things that at first glance can't fill hungry mouse stomachs, but are nevertheless vital for survival.

Jennifer is home alone. Her mother suddenly has to work a night shift at the hospital, and her father no longer lives with them. Jennifer is actually a little afraid of being alone, but it's also a great opportunity to do all the things Mom usually forbids: lying on the sofa with her shoes on, ordering pizza without permission, and watching TV until she drops. But even that gets boring eventually, and Jennifer becomes increasingly anxious. The best thing to do is hide in the closet. But what's this? Someone's already in there: Fearman, a terrified superhero from a distant galaxy. He's on the run from the nasty Rabbleman, who, of course, happens to ring the doorbell at this very moment. Leonce, son of the owner of Popo GmbH, is bored out of his mind – and Lena is equally weary of life. Now the two are to be married without ever having met, and on top of that, Leonce is supposed to take over his father's company after the wedding. To escape his fate, Leonce and his new companion Valeria flee to Italy in search of la dolce vita. What they don't know is that Lena, who has been assigned to him, and her companion, governess Konstante, have also fled the lives planned for them. At their refuge, the two pairs meet, and Leonce and Lena fall in love – unaware that they are destined for each other anyway.

In the second symphony concert, we welcome another outstanding concert soloist: the Swedish soprano Maria Bengtsson, who has performed at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, the Opéra Bastille in Paris, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, and the Berlin State Opera, among others, under the baton of Kirill Petrenko, Daniel Barenboim, Simone Young, Philippe Jordan, Vladimir Jurovsky, Riccardo Muti, Sebastian Weigle, and many others. Bengtsson will perform Alban Berg's "Seven Early Songs" with the Symphony Orchestra: the song cycle, which combines texts by forgotten poets such as Paul Hohenberg and Carl Hauptmann with Rilke, Lenau, and Storm, tells the story of a great love.
