Sergey Khachatryan was 15 when he became the youngest-ever winner of the International Sibelius Competition. Now a seasoned professional, he’ll play Tchaikovsky for his Minnesota Orchestra debut. John Corigliano believes that music enables us to keep the people we’ve lost alive in our thoughts. This deeply personal symphony, composed when the AIDS epidemic was rampant, explores the excess of rage and the tenderness of remembrance.
