The second evening of the two-part Gilded Age recital series reflects on the reimagining of European tradition in the emergence of a distinct American voice. Antonín Dvořák’s Sonatina carries the American spirit into his European forms, while Fritz Kreisler’s nostalgic Slavonic Fantasie bridges old-world lyricism with new-world influence, and Aaron Copland brings youthful Parisian-inspired energy.
