Amphitrio is an award-winning contemporary jazz trio from Bucharest, Romania, bringing together pianist and composer Andrei Petrache, bassist Mike Alex and percussionist Philip Goron. Drawing on backgrounds in classical, jazz and alternative music, the trio has developed a distinctive sound that blends modern jazz with Nordic lyricism, Balkan rhythms and influences taken from heavy metal and electronic music.
