Bach's Christmas Oratorio
More details
Bach's Christmas Oratorio opens magnificently with timpani and trumpets in "Jauchzet, frohlocket!" (Shout for joy, rejoice!), and when the choir enters, the tone is set with full intensity and goosebumps! The work tells the story of Jesus' birth through a blend of festive choruses, lyrical arias and recitatives, in which the evangelists Luke and Matthew carry the story forward. Duration: approx. 2 hours including intermission.
