This extraordinary concert series kicks off in the majestic Munich Residence, Herkulessaal, with performances scheduled for Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 8:00 pm, and Friday, June 14, 2024, at 8:00 pm. The series will conclude with a special guest concert at the Konzerthaus Wien in Vienna on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 7:30 pm.

The evening promises an unforgettable exploration of classical music, featuring Ludwig van Beethoven's "Piano Concerto No. 5 in E flat major, op. 73," a piece that resonates with the turmoil and heroism of its time. The concert will also present Richard Strauss's "Sinfonia domestica," offering a contrasting glimpse into the composer's expressive portrayal of family life.

Under the baton of Franz Welser-Möst and the virtuosic piano of Leif Ove Andsnes, the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks will bring these masterpieces to life, showcasing the depth and breadth of classical music.

Franz Welser-Möst returns to Blossom with Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony, which journeys from dark inner turmoil to an unwavering celebration of life. The “breathtakingly brilliant pianist” Víkingur Ólafsson (Gramophone) also joins the Orchestra for Robert Schumann’s Piano Concerto, a marvelous showcase for soloist and orchestra that the composer once referred to as “a compromise between a symphony, a concerto, and a huge sonata.”
