### Event Description: ASMF & Cambridge Summer Music Festival: Mozart's Requiem

Join the Academy of St Martin in the Fields and the Academy of English Voices for an unforgettable evening celebrating the genius of Mozart. This special event will feature star soloist Martin James Bartlett on the piano and will be conducted by Ben Johnson.

The program begins with Mozart's Symphony No.1 in E-Flat major, K16, composed when he was just eight years old. The evening continues with the Piano Concerto No.22 in E-Flat Major, K 482, notable for its lyrical passages and the innovative use of clarinets in the orchestra. The concerto's slow sections, particularly the Andante, were so well-received at its first performance in 1785 that they had to be repeated immediately.

The grand finale of the night will be Mozart's Requiem in D minor, K 626, his final and most profound masterpiece.

Immerse yourself in an evening of musical brilliance with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra's presentation of "Firebird" at the Lighthouse, Poole. This captivating concert, taking place on Wednesday, 9th October at 7:30 pm, showcases an impressive lineup of works by Beethoven, Shostakovich, and Stravinsky, each bringing their unique voice to the stage.

The highlight of the night, Stravinsky's "The Firebird 1919," promises a journey through atmospheric, imaginative, and melodious landscapes, culminating in the whirling, nightmarish Infernal Dance. Alongside, Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No. 1 offers a witty and carefree exploration of musical parodies, while Beethoven’s Symphony No.6 'Pastoral' paints a serene picture of nature, from tranquil scenes of rustic life to the dramatic intrusion of a thunderstorm.

Under the baton of conductor Elena Schwarz, with Martin James Bartlett on piano and Paul Bosworth on trumpet, this concert is not just a performance but an experience. Supported by The Michael and Ilse Katz Foundation, the event is set in the iconic Lighthouse at 21 Kingland Road, Poole, BH15 1UG, with ticket prices ranging from £17 to £52 for a running time of 2 hours.
